Best litter yet!!!!

I have been using Tidy Cats scoopable, which I don't like for 2 reasons. The clumps seems to break apart constantly. Also, even though the litter itself had a pleasant smell-it did not smell good on my cat. I have switched to this and I also add a layer of Arm & Hammer Litter Box Deodorizer to the bottom of the pan before pouring in litter. I LOVE this combo! There are no odors, this litter clumps wonderfully--as long as you wait about 20 minutes after the business is finished to scoop it out. My Sophie smells great, and we didn't have to "transition" with this. I threw out Tidy Cats, poured in BB and she took right to it! I highly recommend this litter!!

Most God-Awful Litter EVER

After cleaning the cat box and cleaning my furniture and searching for marking on the walls, I discovered that my cat had not been spraying anywhere...he'd just peed in the cat box. The stench is overwhelming. There was ONE clump in the box. ONE. This stuff does absolutely nothing for smell whatsoever. If you want your house to smell like the crazy cat lady on animal hoarders, then this is definitely the litter for you. If not, steer clear.
Pros: low dust
Cons: Doesn't Eliminate Odor, messy

The best in years of searching

I very rarely review anything, but after using this litter for several months, having tried almost every single brand out there, I had to recommend this. My mother hates cats, she says "they smell", but it's obviously just the litter box that smells, and she recently spent a couple of weeks with us and this litter passed the ultimate test, she said it even smells nice!
It was initially dustier, but it's gotten better, I don't know if they've improved their process or Petsmart has handled it better. Absolutely no smell other than toasted walnuts, superb clumping (I have two adult cats), naturally safer, and made in the US! I hope they continue to make this for years and years.

I love this litter! This is the first natural litter I have tried. My kitty recently came down with allergies, and I thought changing his litter away from the normal litter might be a good idea. He took to it right away. I have (he has) been using this litter for a month now. It has great odor control, clumps fairly well (some chunks do break apart from time to time), and my kitty's skin has improved. It is low tracking. my only complaint is that it comes in a small bag that is a bit pricey.

My aunt and I share the responsibilities of a one year old cat. My requirement was that the litter needs to be a natural product have no extra perfumes. Her concern is the possibility of odor and clumping. After trying three litters we agreed on this one.
Pros: eliminates odor, low dust, easy to clean

BEST natural litter!!

I've been hopeful, yet skeptical, about all these natural litters I've seen on the market. I tried pine and wheat and was very disappointed. Corn litter worked pretty well but was very dusty. I feed my cats Blue Buffalo and was very excited when I saw they now had a litter.
I am absolutely shocked at how well this walnut litter actually eliminates odor. There's no nauseating overly-perfumey smell mixing with the odor of urine and feces. It simply gets rid of the smell altogether!
The clumping capability is amazing as well. Totally solid clumps when I clean and no mush, which I found to be the problem with wheat. I also feel safe knowing that my cats are not ingesting any hazardous material and I'm not inhaling chemical dust when I change their box out.

My Cat is happy - so am I.

I smell no ammonia. I smell no odor. I use two metal pans at opposite ends of the house - both on litter mats, surrounded by privacy screens. She kicks her litter around and a few pieces spill onto the mat (that is why I have the mats). I think it clumps wonderfully, it doesn't stick to her paws, I have to dig to find her treasures because everything sinks so well (or she is good at burying). As soon as Blue came out with litter, I dumped the wheat litter I was using and switched. My cat is happy, I am happy, the litter is safe and effective. Keep it going Blue - next thing I'm writing you about are special hairball treats so my girl can be 100% Blue everything!

i used to us just maxxi scoop for my cats but then they clay wouldn't stay together when i scooped. so i started to switch to blue, i have 2 roommates and they have stated in the past even tho the little box is cleaned every 2 days it still smelled sometimes, with this mixed into the littler theres no smell it clumps great and now ill be using less of the clay little until my cats are fully used to this. one of my cats has dry skin so less dust from the clay makes it easyer too.

I love this litter.. I never thought I would switch from clay but it really reduces the dust and tracking. The odor control is good, but not great. I can't leave it for more than 3 or 4 days but no big deal the lack of litter dust is great. I didn't think the small bags would last me long enough for the price, but I tried it and I have one cat and the 6lb bag lasts me almost two months. Way longer than 6lbs of clay would last me. Definitely worth it, just remember to slowly taper off the clay by mixing in the Blue Buffalo instead of switching all at once.

Not impressed!

January 25, 2013

I won't buy this again. My cat doesn't seem to mind it, but I've noticed the same drawbacks that others have commented on:
1) It's so lightweight that my cat scatters it everywhere;
2) The dark color makes a mess on our beige carpet;
3) It doesn't mask odors well, and the ammonia smell is very apparent;
4) I'm finding the brown dust on my bathroom counter, which means it sticks to my cat's feet across a room and a hallway. That means it's really going everywhere the cat goes!
I do like the fact that urine doesn't sink to the bottom of the pan, so the clumps are easier to remove.

Best Natural Clumping Litter!

Having gone through 6 different natural clumping litter varieties, this is by far the best! This walnut based litter is lighter then clay, contains the smell better then corn and doesn't spread as much as pine.

Good cat litter

I am a clean freak and have used several different litters and litter boxes. I have been using this litter for almost a year now which is the longest I have ever used any litter. I like it. It doesn't have the same smell as clay litter- it smells fresh. I am positive it is better for my little guy, breathing in all that clay all the time can't be good for him! The only complaint I have is that instead of seeing white-ish, gray-ish paw prints everyone, I do see brown paw prints everywhere. I have a white toilet seat cover and a white bathroom mat near his litter box and have to wash them several times a month to get rid of the brown paw prints. I wouldn't necessarily think of this as a reason to not get the litter though. All around, I know I like it better than the clay and I know my kitty doesn't notice a difference.

I use it in my rats litter box and it is the best litter I have ever tried!!! It costs over a dollar more for a tiny little bag of small animal litter, and that stuff doesn't even work very well. I have used pellet newspaper litter and the fluffy bedding as litter as well. All other litters smelled horrible after a few hours of use. With this litter, it never smells at all in their cage! It soaks up the smell and liquid so well. It Is the best. One bag has lasted me over two months! I wish I could afford to use it for my cat's litter box, but it would get expensive quickly.

The BEST litter

I just went today to my local store where I bought this product under the brand name Purr & Simple and discovered they no longer carried it. I was not pleased as it is the best litter I have found so far. I decided to look up where I could get it online. The store did tell me they were purchased by Blue Buffalo and I see to my relief they have renamed it under their brand name. This is a great product with very low odor and lasts for a very long time when scooped out regularly. It doesn't seem to have a lot of dust either. It has a slightly earthy smell naturally which is not unpleasant but may be different than you are used to. It is dark but I haven't found they track it out too much. As long as you use a mat just outside the litter box it isn't any worse than the clay. Just perhaps a bit more noticeable due to the colour. I have used it for perhaps a year now.

No more natural litters

I've now tried a few different types of natural litters (pine, corn, and now this one). I will be returning to my original non-natural litter for several reasons. Every natural litter I have tried has MASSIVE amounts of dust. Don't let this litter's packaging fool you. My black litter box turned brown from the dust that came out while pouring the litter. Also, the odor control with this litter is horrible for feces (I have not had problems with any litter controlling odor from urine). The only good thing about this litter is that it does absorb liquids very well, resulting in smaller urine balls and thus less litter used overall. I cannot recommend this litter to anyone unless you are able to scoop feces out immediately after your cat uses it.

I tried this litter as I do not like all the dust clay litter produces. This product is wonderful. My cat loves it and it is light and there is no dust. Give it a try. You will not be disappointed.
I also changed my cats food to Blue and she loves that too. Seems more spunky since she has been eating it. She is an older girl.

This is the best litter I have ever used. I have had cats for over 20 years, and I have tried many kinds of litter. This one clumps better, tracks very little, and is not dusty. The odor control is fantastic. My cats adjusted to it very well and seem to like it.

This litter is great. It clumps up really well and it smells way better than other cat litters.
I was told that the majority of dogs hate it and won't eat it, but my dog thinks it's incredibly tasty. So I just squirt a whole bunch of Bitter Apple (also bought from Petsmart) into the litter and she stays away, plus it doesn't affect my cat's bathroom habits.
Bottom line, I do recommend this litter.

This is amazing cat litter! It hides the smell very good, is a lot lighter to carry than other litter, and for me does not track very much at all. It clumps very well for me and has very little dust, I have asthma so this is why I had tried it in the first place and it has been wonderful. The only complaint I might have is that it does turn my white cats feet a brown color, but she just licks it right off. It's still worth the five stars even with the minor complaint.

I bought this cat litter because it was flushable. This litter is dusty that settles on all horizontal surfaces. As dusty as clay litter, but healthier for the cats to ingest from licking their fur. I've bought several bags only because I had coupons, but I will go for another brand that is also flushable, coupon or not.
