My fiance and I decided to get a pet fish together and didn't really know what to get. Being ignorant of Betta's we thought tanks under 1 Gallon was just too small for them and I am glad we chose this bowl.
Pros:
Inexpensive an shatter proof, plus it is easy to clean.

Advice:
I would only recommend 1 Betta, plus a Marimo (Moss) Ball, Marina Betta Mini Heater, and a thermometer to make sure your Betta is nice and comfy. If you some research, like I have, you will find that at a bare minimum a 1 gallon bowl/tank is recommended for a happy Betta with 5 gallons being the most preferred by Betta hobbyists for 1 Betta.

I had bought a mystery snail to have a tank mate that eats up left over food. Don't do it unless you like performing water changes every 2 to 3 days. They dirty up the water quickly. Snails are escape artists and therefore require a container with a lid and thus I am getting the snail it's own tank. As of right now it is in a quarter cup for the time being until I can get to Petsmart and get him a better container.

This is a great little bowl, for a quarantine tank. the bowl is wonderful for when the little guys get sick and you have to medicate them but do not, i repeat DO NOT keep them in this as a home. get at least a 2.5 tank if your low on funds and at least get them a heater. also if your planning on getting this find a top for it as well. the little guys like to jump.

This is a good betta bowl and in the 1/2 gal bowl my goldfish has lived for a week I said I can't tell on it yet in the one I did for it but now I can and I love it the same it's a good bowl if you get the 1/2 or 1 gal.
with a small pant it's sill big the one gal but the 1/2 gal with a small pant there is some room and a lot more if you put it on the side it's a lot better :)!

Ok. When people say "small fish" can live in here, they are wrong! Betta fish need a bare minimum of 5 gallons, with heater, filter, etc. Even a tiny little baby betta shouldn't be in here. No fish in 5 gallons besides bettas, shrimp, snails. Guppies need 10+ gallons.
With snails you shouldn't have plastic or a 1 gallon. They need a heater because they are tropical fish. They also should have a filter because of their huge bio-load.
Shrimp are fine in here.
But do research on ANY type if fish your going to get. Even if your going to get a shrimp, do research. And don't get your info or care advice from a petstore. They don't give out right info. Head over to Yahoo answers for proper care.

It's cute looking, and a huge improvement from my betta's 1/2 gallon tank. I actually like how my fish Bently appears bigger when he's in the back, and sometimes when I look at the bowl from a certain angle, it looks like he's gone! I just suggest some sort of plant or decoration, as it's a bit plain and empty. Once I get some more money, I'm sure I'll buy another of these for my other betta, Sheldon.

I bought this product for my male betta. He absolutely adores the tank and finds it very spacious and convenient. He looks so comfortable. This product is really great for bettas and really great for a temporary betta tank. I recommend this product for those who want to purchase a betta. My area had an earthquake earlier this year in August (5.9 magnitude) and when I got home the bowl hadn't knocked over! I was so relieved and surprised at how sturdy the product was.

A lot of people think "small fish" can live in 1 gallon bowls, but they can NOT! Snails can live in 1 gallon but nothing less also I think shrimp can live in 1 gallons. Bettas can live in here but may not be happy. They need heater and should have filter. Some bettas may like it but most will not. Some one said they can and will jump out but they may jump out, its not a yes they will, its a maybe. Bettas in 10 gallons will still jump out. I think my bettas have tried 1 tine or so, it could have been just the filter.

I just love this!It is great for bettas,goldfish,and feeder fish! I acually keep my 1 betta,and 2 goldfish in one,but I have two cuz they fight! It is so easy to clean and handle, and heck only $7.99 what a steal!!!I highly recomend it!

this is great for bettas i had one and put it in this but it died 4 days later while i was cleaning it but you should seriously consider gettinng it its a great bowl with great quality for a great price

I got two guppies recently and they love this bowl as their home. It is simple to clean and the 0.5 gallon variant provides enough space for these little guys.

Please, dont put your betta in a bowl, THEY CAN AND WILL JUMP! if you do get this for a betta, COVER IT! and puting a goldfish in ti would be 10x worse, as they will get way too big. you can use this for other small aquatic creatures, though, maybe cherry shrimp, snails or an african dwarf frog?

This little original-looking bowl is perfect for small fish! If you needn't any special or fancy lighting or filter, then this is a great choice for you. The appearance is awesome, and still yet the build for it is nice for your marine animal. I highly recommend this product to anyone in a similar situation (small fish).
