I bought 2 of these for my rabbits & guinea pigs. I had to take off the bottom slat as they couldn't get hardly any hay out otherwise. That made it possible for them to get it out but some of course fell on the floor. I gave this a 3 cause it's really hard to find something good for the hay that doesn't let some of it fall on the floor & i'm still searching for something better.

I really liked the idea of this thing--it is made out of wood and not plastic--so I bought one last time I was at the store. Although it does hold a lot of hay, my cavy, Irene, can't hardly get anything out because the openings are too small. She'd much rather eat the hay from the toilet paper tube I've stuffed it in. Though I can't say much for it, I gave it three stars instead of two because when Irene CAN get hay out of it, it keeps her cage clean.

I have jest recently bought this for my rabbit and I didnt like it. I was thinking it would be nice to keep the hay off of the bottom of the cage although it didnt work as planned.. When I put the hay in the holder if it wasn't sticking far out the rabbit couldn't get ahold of it to eat any of the hay! He eventually stood on two feet and started eating out of the top buy clearly couldn't reach all the way down into the container.. I now just continue to put the hay on the bottom of the cage for him to eat even though it doesn't look the best, just so I know he can actually get some!

My Guinea Pig uses it and never chews on the wood! She doesn't have any trouble with getting the hay out of the rack, and it holds a lot! The rack is easy to hang and doesn't fall down. Also, only a few pieces end up falling out of the rack and onto the cage floor! So barely any hay goes to waste! :)

I really like this manger because it is not plastic and not colored wood. Its cute and fits a good amount of hay. My bunny like to get the hay out between the different slots. And its safe for him to chew if he chooses to (since he even chews on his litter box).

I love thing! My piggy will go up and nibble from the slits in the sides, or stand up and grab from the top. My messy piggy likes to pull it all out though and make a mess in his cage! However, I really like that it is wooden, so he isn't nibbling on plastic when he gobbles up all his hay and wants more. Looks cute in the cage, and hangs from the side of the cage perfectly!

I got this product about two months ago when I got a guinea pig from a friend who could no longer take care of her. I was looking for a hay rack that could work well. So I went to the store and found this one, and it looked good and it was pretty cheap. So brought it home and it seemed fine, except it is really hard for Izzy, my guinea pig, to get the hay out! The slats that hold the hay in are sort of thick and so she has to turn her head sideways and reach her nose in the get the hay. But she managed, and I didn't think it was worth replacing. It seemed sturdy, until this morning I was filling it up and one of the slats popped off! I have taped it shut for now, and it works OK with four pieces of tape on it, but I think that when Izzy goes to get some hay, it's going to popp off again. I will be replacing it very soon and I will be getting the wire type. I don't think wire would break like this if it is welded together, and the wire can be very thin and still hold the hay in without covering it all up. Also, I don't know if it was just a fluke, but mine didn't come with any way to attach it to the cage. All it has are two little metal loops, but they can't "clip" to the cage like it says. I ended up using a piece of string, which made it really annoying to take out to refill.

Cons: poor quality

I bought this for my two guinea pigs and they both run to it every time i fill it up with hay! The only problem is that it's hard to get the hay to stick out between the spaces. My guinea pig (steel) likes to stick his nose between the spaces to try and get the hay and has trouble getting it sometimes. Steel also likes to crawl onto it and swing from it occasionally to try and get the hay from the top.

Pros: durable, easy to clean, Spillproof

Cons: poor quality

it works but my rabbits woul chew it so much and i had to remove it because they didnt even know their was hay in it and when i showed them they couldnt get it out! wast of money

my pig Glory loves this product!!! I would totally recomend this to anyone, the only con is that she sometimes chews on it if she gets bored but other than that a great product!

This hay rack is perfect for my rabbit Candi. She loved it when I first got it! It was a little smaller than I expected, but it holds lots of hay, and I fill it everyday anyway. The wood isnt dyed, so its okay if she chews it. I love this, and so does Candi. (:
