(Brings back good old memories.) I bought this Undergravel Filter today. Its running good. I am using it on my 10 gallon aquarium. Easy set-up. The only downwall is the tubes are tall as a ten gallon aquarium (height wise)... so I trimmed about 1 inch of the bottom tube and now its better.

I love this filter design better then the previous 2 piece design. The bottom plate is now many snap together rubbery pieces instead of the old 2 piece rigid plastic that didn't really fit the 10 gal tank it was suppose to fit and broke easily. The new design allows for a good fit in the bottom of the tank and there is enough extra pieces, because the package says fits 10-40 gallon tanks, I am even playing with making a couple of smaller decorative plant/fish tanks.

Assembly and installation are a breeze with the snap-together grid format. The soft air lines kink easily. I have a 10 gallon tank where the filter didn't quite match up but it fits well.
I had to upgrade my air pump to get the filter to operate properly. Other than that, it was a good buy.

Pros: easy to install

Cons: didn't work

what the site fails to mention in the description is that the "canasters" are filled with carbon. i bought the large filter as i have a 45 gal tank and i wasnt sure if ut would be big enough to cover a 36"x12" bottom. but it fit perfectly. its actually just several peices (a lot of pieces actually) that slide together like a puzzle. this alliws you to add more if you need it even larger or make it smaller if you dont need it that big. another thing i really liked is that the pieces are not just plastic, its more rubbery so it bends instead of just snapping and breaking. now onto the tubes. theu are actually two tubes that are adjustable. so it allows you to set wht hight in your tank you want the water fliw coming out at. my tank iis pretty tall so they dont reach the top of the water but thwy are only a few inches from the waters serfice. the is a great product and i love it. im usong this in combination with a marineland bio filter. i can already tell my water ia clearer and its only been a few hours!

i bought the 10-20 gallon filter, i did not fit so i switched to my 20 gallon it works great

Pros: works great, easy to clean
