This bowl only lasted 2 weeks, there wasn't any temperature difference. I literally was sitting studying for exams and the bowl cracked!

I bought this product this afternoon for my beta Pio. I put rocks in the bottom and filled i with water only to have it crack. I returned to the store for an exchange hoping that it was just a one time defect. Unfortunately the net one cracked while my fish was in it. I am now headed to the store for the 3rd time to get a different shape that hopefully will not crack.

This fishbowl is very nice, my first at that. It's a cool alternative to the normal circular bowls. I keep my betta in it, with lots of plants and some gravel. The shape is very appealing; nice and round with a flat-ish base and a slanted top [Like the picture.] While it is only 1.2 gallons, this bowl is large. I bought it in store thinking it was 3 gallons! [Again, my first bowl.] It's at least three times the size of a cheapy half-gallon drum bowl, and the fish has lots of room to swim, even being a crowntail. That doesn't mean it doesn't require weekly water changes, though. Every smaller tank needs that. Obviously, the round shape isn't the best for mounted heaters, so you can lay it across the bottom of the bowl instead. Hides it better, actually. The glass is nice, thick enough to hold water while still being lightweight enough to carry to the sink for water changes. You don't want to fill it up all the way, or the fish may jump out. If you're more creative than I, then you'll probably find a way to make some sort of DIY lid for it.
My betta made bubblenests in this bowl. I recommend it highly. ^^
Pros: easy to install, easy to clean, sturdy
