Brushing the coat is the most important step of the grooming process and for best results should be done daily. For long hair breeds, brushing helps remove dead hair before it mats.

I bought this brush because I have 2 cats. One's a Main Coon and one's a Tortie. They both shed like no tomorrow and i'm constantly brushing them out to get all the extra fur. The brush I bought had a soft bristle side as well. I feel the bristle side works better then the pin side, but i'm not impressed with either. I feel it doesn't really do anything at all and the bristle side is really hard to clean out.
