I got this to try with my HOH dog. He is very soft natured, so I wanted to make sure there was no chance of accidentally shocking him. I was extremely disappointed right from the start. Even with as sensitive as he is, he wouldn't even acknowledge the vibration. I tried it at every level. The very first time he startled a small bit, and that was it. I tried it on my wrist and I think my cellphone vibrates stronger than this thing. Overall extremely disappointed.

Purchased this item to re-train my newly deaf dog. I liked that it was a vibration only collar which would avoid any accidental shock, but I was greatly disappointed in the results.
The collar is supposed to have adjustable vibration levels. However the higher you set the level all it does is vibrate at a higher frequency (faster), when something vibrates faster it actually smooths out the vibrations, reducing the feeling of the vibration itself.
In short, my dog couldn't feel this collar on level 1 and he couldn't feel it on level 12. Just to make sure, I tried it on myself and I could barely feel it either!
For the record, my dog is 35 lbs, has a medium length coat.
