I bought this bowl for my french bulldog. This has helped him slow down with his eating, so its doing its job! However, I chose this over the plastic bowls to AVOID unwanted bacteria. The bone in the center has a crevice that food can get into and sit in. We give our puppy a mix of wet food and dry food and I can't help but to think of how much of that food is getting into that little crevice. I would recommend for use with dry food, but not with wet food.
Pros: Spillproof
Cons: leaks

I bought this for one of my daschunds who is extremely food aggressive. He inhales what's in his bowl and then steals everyone elses. This bowl has really helped slow him down. In addition to his dry food, I mix mashed up black beans and nutritional yeast and press it down all around the center bone. It takes him several minutes to lick it all out. Now, he's the last one to finish and peace has been restored.
But immersing the bowl in the sink traps water in the center bone. Apparently, the thing is hollow. The first time I washed the bowl and put it away, I later found it full of nasty soapy water.
Pros: durable, Spillproof
Cons: leaks
