We had to switch to a limited ingredient food, due to one of the cat's allergies. This has worked out great. No allergic reaction and both cats love it.

She is 9 and she has a food allergy to bird products like chicken, turkey, or duck. She was diagnosed last year by her vet. He recommended a fish diet for her. Her gums have healed up nicely. However, she only wants to eat it when you mix the Natures One Salmon treats powder with it. If your cat is facing a gum problem, instead of looking at removing the teeth or getting cortizone injections, first look to see if the problem maybe the food. They may have a food allergy like our cat. Make sure the ingredients do not and I repeat do not have bird ingredients like turkey, duck, chicken, or chicken by products in the ingredients list.
Pros: high quality, digestible
Cons: price, Taste

I have several senior cats with food issues, three have food allergies, one has IBD, and most are overweight. I researched foods for quite some time, I was looking for a food that I could feed to all of them. My IBD cat had been eating Blue Buffalo's Wilderness for over a year with great results so when I saw the Blue Basics I thought it could benefit them all so I decided to give it a try. My only concern was that with several of them being very fussy eaters, I was afraid they would turn their noses up at it but they all love it. I first bought the Fish and Potato because my IBD cat needs to eat and he usually prefers fish. After seeing the reviews for the Duck I will try a small bag of that as well and use it for treats, it would be a healthy alternative to the expensive grain free treats. I think I hit the jackpot! The two cats that were licking all of the fur off their legs and feet are actually getting new fur and not licking it off. The other food allergy cat was always vomiting up undigested food, that has also stopped. My IBD cats looks and feels great, this has all become noticeable in the last few weeks since starting them on Blue Basics. Yes it's more expensive than some of the other foods but no more allergy shots for my cats which are not only expensive but also not good for them long term. Goodbye vet bills! Thank you Blue Buffalo!!
