Arm & Hammer(r) 3-Sided Toothbrush for Dogs

Feel triple confident that your dog's teeth and gums are healthy and strong by brushing with this 3-sided toothbrush. Bristles cover 3 sides of the brush's head to tightly fit around each tooth and thoroughly clean hard-to-reach spaces.

The Arm and Hammer 3-sided dog toothbrush is one of the best products -- and best concepts -- PetSmart offers -- contrary to what any other reviewer might say!
To make it perfect, PetSmart needs only to offer large quanities of replacement bristle heads. The Arm and Hammer design is clearly made so that putting another brush head onto the brush body would only take about one-third of a second.
Plus, replacement heads would obviously be affordable to manufacture.
Nobody else's design has that feature of the bristle head being both soft and easily replaceable.
The soft bristle backing is crucial because, if Chopper chooses to chomp with brushing underway, the action won't result in dental tragedy.
My question is, why haven't Arm and Hammer and PetSmart recognized that already -- and pre-packed lots of 25, 50 and 100 replacement bristle heads for sale right next to these brushes (for cheap!)
The only way anyone wouldn't prefer this brush for their dogs over ALL other styles is if they're just not paying attention -- or thinking the situation through.
It bears repeating: Many if not all other brushes have hard backing near the bristles. If your dog bites down on that hard surface, many dogs -- especially smaller breeds -- could crack their teeth.
What's the point in trying to brush your dog's teeth -- in order to save the teeth and extend the dog's life -- only to have him break several out in the process with hard-backed bristles on some other poorly designed toothbrush?
Therefore, you want a soft bristle and backing design, where even if the dog does bite down, it won't hurt his pearly whites. The Arm and Hammer "3-sider' offers this advantage -- and it's the only one I've ever been able to find anywhere.
This brush performs exactly as advertised -- and does precisely what it says it will. The 3-sides cover all the tooth surfaces -- even on large breeds -- and make reaching all sides of the teeth -- front, back and behind -- fairly easy and quick. Three-sides in smooth motion makes brushing any dog's teeth three times easier.
PetSmart should make absolutely certain it does EVERYTHING in its mighty corporate power to keep this 3-sided toothbrush in stock -- and in production.
Last night, I drove 110 miles round trip to buy 6 brushes from PetSmart in Greenville, SC -- over concerns that these brushes might be discontiued. I bought out their entire stock on the shelf, in fact.
True, the product could be improved by making the brush backing tougher at the hinges so "canine canines" wouldn't slice through as easily.
If the dog does bite through this brush bristle head, fairly simple counter-measures could prevent that tendency from happening again -- such as using a thick, soft rubber pad inserted between the dog's teeth -- to discourage him from clamping down. (Some enterprising PetSmart marketing guru might even recognize the usefulness of that suggestion, put thick rubber "no-bite" pads in the dental section -- and be sure to send me my royalty check...)
But that's a small matter compared with how near-perfect this brush is!
PetSmart does need to make a priority, though, of offering replacement bristle heads -- CHEAPLY -- in lots of 25, 50 and 100.
This line of Arm and Hammer canine dental care products might do more to preserve the teeth -- and therefore extend the lives of our dogs -- than any other product line I've ever seen. Keep up the good work, PetSmart. This one product won my loyalty over your perspicacity in stocking it! Thanks again -- and don't let us down by overlooking the replacement birstle head suggestion.
Pros: cleans teeth, taste, freshens breath

Not worth the time and money

This brush looks like a great idea. Why not brush the whole tooth at once and get done faster?! Nope. Doesn't work in practice. The brush doesn't wrap around each tooth so very little of the tooth surface is being touched. It ended up taking me longer to brush my dogs teeth and did a poorer job of it.
The material is very flimsy. Once my dog had bitten down a few times the brush was toast.
I've found that a regular cheap flat brush works much better.
Cons: didn't work
