We bought this after adopting two 6 month old kittens. They are now 2 1/2 years old and both of them still travel well in it together for short distances. However, because they have grown from 5 lbs to 10 lbs each, we have decided to get two of the exact same carrier but in a smaller size so that they can each have their own space to lounge instead of fighting over space when traveling very long distances. We love this carrier as we can open the door/take off the door easily and also take off the lid so they have a cave to nestle in and yet can easily get out to visit us or each other on road trips! Highly recommend this for your kitties or cat!!!
Pros: comfortable, easy to assemble, easy to clean, sturdy, price

I have spent the last two weeks buying and returning carriers for my 15.5 pound cat. They are either too small or too large or the plastic is flimsy and the wire door rattles like crazy. I need this crate for car travel and rattling is BAD. Filmsy plastic is just plain scary. This is the first crate that is the PERFECT size, very sturdy and the door is secure and does not rattle at all. This will be the only cat carrier I buy in the future! Awesome product.

We purchased this crate, so we could crate our chihuahua puppy overnight. He's outgrown it within 2 weeks but he still fits inside it, just not enough room to really crate for long periods of time.
It's quite sturdy and we haven't had any issues with it at all. I would definitely recommend to people, especially at the current sale price!

Can be escaped

I purchased the "up to 50 lb." size for my 36 lb., 1-year-old rescue. The dog is very well-behaved, but the shelter strongly recommended crate training. The first night, my dog quietly escaped, and I assumed I had closed the door improperly. She hadn't destroyed anything or gotten into any trouble. The second night, I was more careful when closing the door. I woke up to find another jailbreak had occurred. My dog chewed up the crate's air filter and chewed off the plastic covering the springs on the door. She popped the door out completely. I don't recommend this crate/carrier because it appears that even a fairly small and timid dog can escape it. However, I suppose it could work as a carrier for short periods of time. (I have also decided crate training isn't for my dog, who has never had an accident in the house or destroyed anything except this crate.)

I bought this and returned it the next day. It is cheap plastic which buckles when you try to lock and unlock. Which locking and unlocking is very difficult and requires two hands and some time.

We had to toss out our soft-sided carriers and move to hard-sided. I tested out the carriers in the local stores, and of them, the Nature's Miracle ones seemed sturdiest to me. I looked for a carrier that held together, that clasped securely, where the edges met cleanly. Most of the other carriers - especially Petmate - had too many potential breakage points, and were made with really cheap plastic. When a joint is just a small, short, skinny (1/8" or less diameter) plastic rod through a hole, what do you do when (and it's when, not if) it snaps? Most of it seemed to be difficulty to repair or replace if it broke.
Considering that, I chose the Nature's Miracle carrier. It's not perfect - it took a few tries to figure out that the doors can open both ways, so you only pull one rod and the other acts as a hinge. It's confounded every vet tech, etc. who has come across it. However, it has held up as a carrier much better than the others.
As for crating - I don't know that I'd choose a carrier for that purpose, rather than a crate or cage. I doubt much would hold up to a nervous puppy trying to get out for 12 solid hours! (That said-I've owned dogs, but never crated them, so I'm not saying this to criticize anyone's choice.)
However, for me, these carriers serve their intended purpose... as a carrier. I am very happy with this. I still prefer soft-sided carriers, but we had to switch for several reasons (you can't easily disinfect a soft carrier...) and this is the best of the hard sided options.
Pros: comfortable, easy to assemble, easy to clean, sturdy

I purchased this crate in a giant size for my Belgian Malinois puppy two months ago after several of my clients had come in with them. I will preface that the only reason I bought this actual model was because the traditional plastic crates were all a size too small for my growing puppy.
I really liked the ease of construction and the fact that the door latches were styled in a way that my 5 year old could manage when helping with the puppy's care. It seemed to hold up well and puppy was happy with the larger, more comfortable housing. Two days ago she started escaping from the crate and we could not figure out how. This morning, we arose to find one of the locking pins (the bar that has the handle attached to it which you pull up on to unlatch the door) was snapped in half.
My puppy is 58 pounds at the time of this incident and the crate she is in is the 40" crate designed for a 90 pound pet. I am highly dissatisfied as my puppy now has to reside in a 32" crate until I can replace the larger one which I will have to order online as my local store does not stock any crates over size "large" besides this one.
Overall, I think this is an exceptional product for small breed dogs, and its styling is great for people who don't have the hand strength to open a standard crate spring latch, but I would not recommend it for households with large breed dogs as it is obviously built to withstand puppy tantrums (or whatever happened while we were sleeping!).
