When I first got my cat, I just got her the regular pate food. She is the first cat I've ever had, so I didn't know the difference. Just by looking at that other food, I could tell its gross. A cat lives for usually around 20 years; could you imagine eating that pate stuff every day of your life for 20 years? I decided I was going to try this cat food, and she LOVES IT. The only flavor she doesn't like is the tuna and potato stew, which has opaque potato chunks in it she picks out.
Like other reviewers said, the packaging is totally unnecessary. I never use the cap, and the cardboard is a waste. Its only a 3oz can, why is there a cap! Additionally its pricey, but its actual chicken rather than some weird gelatinous chicken by product so I guess you get what you pay for.

While my pets absolutely love this food, I have concerns with the packaging. It's a bit wasteful. The cat food cans are wrapped in cardboard wrapping and each can comes with it's own lid. Dog food version doesn't have the cardboard but still, has it's own lid. Not my ideal choice for sustainability.
I certainly hope this changes in the near future as I will probably switch to something else.
Other Sustainability concerns are that it's not made with meats sourced within the US.

This is the best cat food!
My cat loves it.
After having issues with food for over a year, he was loosing a lot of weight and was put on a disgusting vet formula, which he hated it.
We were at a loss as to what to give him to start hi eating right again... I decided to try Simply Nourishc.
I started giving him the wet cams chicken stew and chicken and tuna, and his reaction was incredible.
He has gained weight and is back to normal, his attitude has improved, as he was very low in energy before, he runs around and is playful once again, and loves going with me to get a can from where I store them to feed him.
Plus, he purrs and gives me love after every meal.
If that is not a sign of a good meal, and a great product, I don't know what it.
Please please have more available at the midtown Miami store. I can't run out of it!!!!!
And make it available online too!!
Thanks for a truly life changing product.

All my three cats loves this food. They are very picky cats and I have tried different brands. I like that it does not have the bad additives as others like gluten, by products, etc. There is a few variety but is ok. It's pricey and I wish the manufacturer will sell a bigger can for the price.

My 4 month old kitten is extremely finicky, I've tried almost every brand of dry & wet kitten food. I purchased the Simply Nourish dry & wet food and the second I put it in his dish he finished the bowl! He absolutely loves it & eats every last bit of the dry food. I also purchased the wet canned food which is simply amazing as well. Its all fresh ingredients, shredded & deboned chicken & meats which he loves as well. Thanks for carrying such a GREAT product!

This is a very promising new product. I love that it looks/smells like people food, and my (very spoiled) cat goes crazy for it! He loves it! It is also completely grain-free which is most healthy for kitties. I'm not sure why there are vegetables in there, but just by eyeballing the food there seems to be a very high ratio of meat to vegetables, so I'll let it slide. Also, there is no carageenan in this food! Yay!
There are, however, some issues that most reviewers have also mentioned. My cat requires at least 3 cans of Simply Nourish every day, which is expensive and also inconvenient for me. BUT he usually eats every bite of those three cans, which is not the case with most of the other canned food he's tried. Usually I have to throw away most of what I give him, then pop open another can for hungry kitty who didn't eat enough, again and again and again. I'll have to do some math to know for sure but I'm thinking that 3-4 cans per day of Simply Nourish ends up being cheaper and more efficient in the long run than all of the other canned food that ends up in the garbage. This is a new product with a great deal of potential. I hope in the future the manufacturers will heed the complaints and suggestions of these reviewers (Seriously, what am I going to do with all these lids???) to make a good product even better. At least I hope so, because I don't know if my cat will ever want to eat anything else again!

For those of you with finnicky cats, who love the first bite of wet food but refuse the rest, here is a cat food that every can is good to the last drop! Free samples from the store demonstrator for Simply Nourish proved beneficial. Although I feed my two cats half a can a day each along with the hard stuff (also Simply Nourish) , my cats look forward to feeding time as a dog looks forward to a meaty bone. The constant regurgitating of food has been reduced to almost nil which is why I hated feeding time. I recommend the manufacturer to produce in bigger cans and less plastic tops to help reduce costs which would encourage more patronage. Go for it!

my kitten is 6 months old and i've tried all kinds of grain-free and gluten free canned food since the day i got her at 6 weeks. i love that i can actually see the ingredients, (chicken actually looks like shredded chicken with tomatoes!) which lets me have a peace of mind that my cat isnt eating some crazy factory by product. she loves it so much as soon as she sees me pick the can, she runs up purring. my cat is barely over 4lb and she usually eats half a can per meal. i love the resealable cans. different flavors mean no more boredom. highly recommend :)

I have 2 older cats around 15 yrs old, I have tried many different kinds of wet cat food and my cats don't seem to like any except Simply Nourish Cat Food, they love it, and eat all of it, there is no waste, I use to end up throwing out alot of food. I give them a can in the morning, and the dry food throughout the day.
If you have a cat that you can's seem to get to eat dry food, try them on the Simply Nourish, my cats hardly ever ate dry food before but they love this.

I've been desperately trying every brand I could find to tempt my 15 year old to eat. She only ate dry food for her entire life and when she began losing her teeth, she stopped eating the dry food. She literally was down to just bones when I found this brand and flavor! Hemi appears to be filling out a bit and actually meows when I bring her the plate :)
Thank you so much for carrying this. I just wish it was in a bigger can.

20 year old finicky kitty luvs it!

September 12, 2012
by Crismas

So our (2) 20 year old cats spent a few weeks with their grandparents and came home having lost a pound each and turning their noses up at their old humdrum dry food. Fast forward past days of frustration (mixing in dry chx bits, chx broth, plain tuna, etc.) - today a clerk at Petsmart recommends Simply Nourish. Even the girl cat (who has never liked wet food) finished her bowl without coming up for air.
I also agree with the reviews below regarding the packaging (the reason I deducted a star). Hopefully Petsmart will pass on customer requests for larger cans to Simply Nourish... oh and eliminate the plastic cap on top of the aluminum pop top (after only 1 can I'm already feeling guilty about the dozens of plastic tops that will just go to waste!).

I've had my kitten and dog on the Diamond brand natural dry foods, but noticed that they weren't liking it much anymore. So I stopped @ Petsmart with a friend, and decided to look for another product that was natural, and without fillers. After coming across this product, and finding the ingredients to be exactly what I was looking for, I bought them! And I am very impressed! My one year old kitty was delighted!! At dinner time she was looking to me for more. I also bought her the canned chicken and veggie food as a treat to be added into her dry. She loved that too! I also like that the meats are not in a congealed form, and that it contains real ingredients! P.S. the 3 oz. cans come with a lid! Yay!! As for my dog, I just started his transition to the new food, last night. So far so good!

Hate the cans but love the food

My cats LOVE the chicken stew. I love the simple and healthy ingredients. It's gotten so that they won't eat anything else so I'm happily stuck buying this.
My only complaint is that it only comes in tiny three ounce cans. I have multiple cats on a wet food only diet so I'm going through nearly a case a day of little cans and I'm tired of popping off the lids and filling my recycle bin full of literally hundreds of tiny cans. Can't they make it in larger cans? Also hate the fact that the teeny 3 ounce cans come with a plastic resealable lid. Honestly! Any cat is going to eat the WHOLE 3 oz. You don't need even one resealable lid let alone one on every can. That's just a waste. They should cut down on their manufacture costs and leave it off.

great cat food

March 29, 2012
by JessrW

While cats are obligate carnivores and lack or do not have in abundance the enzymes to break down vegetables/fruits to get nutrients from them as we do (and therefore fruits/vegetables in cat food don't do a lot of good), this food is still wonderful because the carbohydrate percentage is low compared to a lot of other cat foods, indicating that the protein is coming from animals and not the vegetables in the food.
I have three cats and they all LOVE this. There are a few drawbacks to this product, though: it is very high in water content, meaning that caloric content is somewhat lower. This means I have to feed them more than I would other brands (e.g., many Wellness flavors could meet their caloric needs with just one 5.5 oz cans, while I would need at least 9-12 ounces per cat of simply nourish to my cats' caloric needs). While it is reasonably priced for a '3 oz' can, the fact that it has a lot of water (but liquid in food is good for cats - keep that in mind) means I have to feed them more, actually making it not-so-good of a deal, especially when you have three cats. I would have to feed them 3-4 cans a day to meet their caloric needs.
I really, really wish that this food was also marketed in larger cans (e.g. 5.5 oz and 12+ oz). I know the dog food is marketed in large cans, so I'm miffed that the cat food isn't. Because it is not feasible to spend so much money (since I am a graduate student), I have to give my cats simply nourish sparingly, which makes me sad because they absolutely adore it.
Also, buying so many cans at once isn't very feasible. I once bought 48 cans at once (I still left quite a bit of every flavor on the shelves), and a petsmart cashier had the nerve to make the comment, "I thought we were going to be able to keep that on the shelves today, but then you came in." In stores where this product doesn't have it's own section, if you want to buy a couple weeks' worth of food in advance it's almost impossible to do so without taking everything on the shelf.
If this were the only product I were feeding my cats, those 48 cans would have only lasted about 5 days for three cats. At my petsmart, the product usually only has 36 cans per flavor on the shelf. Hopefully the limited availability is due to the product being fairly new and, in the future, bigger more efficient cans will be made at as reasonable a price as the smaller cans.

I think the stringy nature of the chicken in this canned food is something that picky cats will not like. My male cat loves halo, wellness, and before grain. I like to give him some variety so I try new brands often. He liked the dry food from this brand but would not even try the canned food, even after I added some of his favorite canned food or dry food. My other cat ate it but she will eat anything.

I have tried all the top end "natural" canned cat foods with my cat and she hands down LOVES this food the best! What can I say, it speaks for itself as soon as you open the can! When I opened it I thought it smelled good! It smells and looks like real chicken. All the other brands left me holding my nose and wondering just what in the world my poor cat was going to eat! Whats better is that it is just as good as the others, as far as nutrition, in the same tier food and its cheaper!

I have two very picky dogs when it comes to food, so I went out and tried simply nourish to see if they would like it and they loved it. The ingredients looked good real chicken, rice, and carrots, it looked like human food, I guess thats why my dogs loved it. I highly recommend simply nourish both wet and dry dog food.
