I bought this product thinking a tire would last for some time. It did, 30 minutes before my puppy Mastiff had eaten through and shredded a side of the XL tire . Forget about too much money, any money is too much. I do not recommend this to anyone that chews or has a jaw stronger than a Yorkie.

Purchased the biggest tire for my German Shepherd. I was hopful that it would last since he liked carrying it around but was surprised that he was able to destroy it so fast. Way to expensive for a toy that lasted a few weeks. :(
Cons: easily destroyed, didn't work

We have a 3 month old lab. This was his favorite toy. He went thru 3 of these small tires in about a month. I just bought the mid size one. Its almost to big for him, but the way he grows it will just his size soon.

Great toy for any size dog. We have a puppy who is teething and a 14 year old Dalmatian who fight over this toy more than any other. Please keep in mind that this is a good Tug-of-War toy but NOT an appropriate toy for dog fetching; the rubber's too hard you may hurt your dog. With that said, it does have a pretty strong rubber odor when it first comes but goes away within a few days and doesn't seem to bother the dogs at all.

I bought the large tire for my dog thinking that he wouldn't be able to wreak it. Well he proved me wrong! He was able to start ripping apart the inside of the tire. If you have a dog that likes to wreak anything and everything, this is not the toy for him.
My dog is a lab, boxer, bulldog, newfoundland, mix, so a very big dog that likes to chew on things and play.

We own a 1 year old pure bread alaskan malamute and this poor tire toy didn't stand a chance when he got a hold of it like we were hoping. We purchased the largest tire and he had a huge long hole chewed in the center of the tire within half an hour. If you have a dog that chews and chews, I would not recommend this toy because they will get through it. It's really too bad because we were so hopeful that he wouldn't be able to chew through this toy, but he did. Not a strong enough toy for powerful chewers that go after the same spot over and over.

We got a shelter dog. He was pretty tame the first few days. From the few toys we offered him, he fell in love with a squeaky fabric octopus. After a few days of settling in, his chewing personality started coming out, so we took out the chewing bones and limited the octopus, which he started ripping apart, but that tire, he would not play with. We started running out of dog toys, so I left the tire around. One day, in a few minutes I had him out of my sight, he pulled out the strings. The next day, he came back with a vengeance and within no time, he ripped that tire to shreds.
That tire was only the beginning of what was to come... I'm going toy shopping tonight and I really need to find the most indestructible, attention-grasping toys there are on the market!!!

We bought this toy for our Lab/pit mix puppy less then 2 weeks ago and he has chewed right through the tire part. He loves the rope part. How long should this toy last, and I think the company should give me my money back.

I'm a 20 pound cockapoo that has destroyed every toy my people have given me. This new tire was great, I loved the very strong rubber smell and the bounciness of the chew. I will admit that this one provided quite the challenge. Usually I can kill a new toy within about 30 minutes or less; this one took two days. But finally, success. Unfortunately, my people made it disappear. They said my next challenge should be a real tire.

We bought this toy for our Great Dane when he was about 3 months old. We wanted something that would hold up because he was destroying toys left and right. The rope portion did not last more than a month, but that tire is still keeping him busy almost 2 years later. It did smell awful when we first got it (strong rubber odor), but the smell wore off within the first few weeks and never seemed to bother our dog at all. I definitely reccomend this item to anyone with a dog who loves to chew.

So I have a beagle mix medium sized dog who destroyed this toy. My mom bought it for him thinking it would last because he loves to chew, boy was that a mistake. It smells like rubber, the rubber peels off in layers, and my dog took chunks out of it. It was just a mess...too bad.

I was looking for a toy my dog would be able to chew on that would last - this looked like the perfect toy - however the smell was so bad I threw the toy away before letting my dog have it. I even washed the toy several times - let it sit in hot soapy water all day - took a brush to it - and it still smelled. I also left it outside overnight hoping to get rid of the smell - nothing worked. I couldn't stand the smell it made in the house so we threw it away.

i made the mistake of thinking 6in. would entertain my english bulldog. wrong. at 12 weeks old, the toy is still too big for her. the durability is awesome, so i'm hoping she grows into it.
it does smell like a tire. though. ick.

Great toy for the average dog. If your dog is like mine he can destroy anything, even this... I have bought a second tire and only let him play with it while we are watching.
This is a good toy for large breed dogs. I had to was both of them because he was not really interested in them at first, but after i got the new tire smell off he loves them.

This is a great toy. My dog loves to chew on the tire and she also drags it around with her. It's a bit heavy so we don't play fetch with it, but it's a nice durable chew/tug toy.
