Everything the others have said is true! Its so loud its obnoxious even with a door partially closed to the room its in. The rake is too flimsey and misses the waste and I have to scoop it out anyhow. The rake also goes over the waste and then pulls it back BEHIND itself and never gets picked up. Whats the point in having it at all.

I am always leery about reviews of products since everyone has different preferences and tollerances. However, please believe the reviews on this product. I have 2 cats. Both were 11 months old when I bought this box (in March). I took it back the next day. Litter ended up everywhere. It was noisy and the rake was flimsy. You had to tear it apart to clean it occassionally and it's got a lot of parts. The rake didn't do a very good job. So I took it back and got Scoop Free. Better choice.

Rack didn't move #1 and #2 like it was suppose to. Then it would just bring it back and it would be stuck under the rack. The receptacles filled up clean unused litter. They did not hold hardly anything and never shut because the rack stopped short of pushing everything all the way in. So the lid would be held open by all the waste that was suppose to be inside. I can not explain how insanely loud this thing was. NO cat would be ok with this noise. I returned this after a couple days. By far worst auto box on the market!

I got an automatic litter box because I have 5 cats and scooping litter was starting to hurt my back. I also have dogs and was using a top entry box to keep them out of the litter. The NM box has not made things easier.
1. It needs babysitting. I wanted to eventually put it in an enclosure to keep the dogs out and give the cats privacy. I don't feel like I can do that because it needs checking and I'm afraid I would forget to check if it was not readily visible, as it is now. The items below will explain why it needs babysitting.
2. It has a clock with a timer on it so you can program it not to run at night, since it is a bit noisy. I never set the timer, but the clock portion worked about 2 days. Since then, it has blinked, along with a light of some sort, and I have not been able to figure out how to correct that. I've found no help in the manual. Nice idea, but useless if it won't work.
3. The rake is very flimsy, more so going forward than backward. What this means is it will run over some of the clumps, especially if they're a bit stuck to the bottom, while it's going forward, but push those same clumps backwards, so they get stuck at the back of the box, preventing the rake from going back into its stop place. Too much waste is left in the box after it cycles, so again, I'm back to scooping what I shouldn't have to. Since it's not terribly deep box, this means it needs to be scooped several times a day.
4. There is a bit of a gap between the litter box portion and the receptacle, so very quickly you have a pile of litter beneath the box.
5. The receptacle is small. Not to get too graphic, but if I didn't have dogs that liked to snack at the box, there's no way just 1 day's worth of waste would fit in the receptacle. Since they would need replacing, in my case with 5 cats, twice a day, that's quite an expense. I've worked around that by putting it in a garbage bag and then installing it, thus being able to get multiple uses out of one. Also I've learned to close my eyes when I take it out to empty because when you lift it out, it pops a bit and litter flies up.
I really, really wanted this to work out well. I've had it for almost a month, trying out different litters to see if it would be any better, but it's not. The NM litter they suggest is so soft that the clumps break up instead of get picked up. I decided today enough is enough. As soon as I can get something else to replace it, it will be going back.
While Nature's Miracle is very good at pet odor removal, they're not so good at making an automatic litter box!
