i have owned a guinea pig before and i saw this on sale and thought it was perfect , it is pretty good but the water bottle leaks a lot i had to re fill it every day or he wouldnt have water. and it was i nice size cage for a guinea pig other than the water bottle it was a very nice cage at a great price easy to assemble and very sturdy lasted me 10+ years

They can not escape but make shore you use the wall mount for the food because they tip it over and my Guinea pig poops in it.

I'm a first time guinea pig owner so when I saw that this starter kit was on sale I decided to scoop it up. Well, here's what you get: The cage is not nearly big enough for a guinea pig, and guinea pigs are social animals so that being said they do better in pairs. A pair of guinea pigs could never fit in the cage. The second story and ramp are completely useless. My guinea, Hugo, couldn't climb the ramp. I lowered the second level a few bars but all that did was keep me from being able to reach him. The food and the hay included are mediocre at best. There's no telling how old the food is so that added Vitamin C may be completely worthless plus it has several other things mixed in that aren't recommended for guinea pigs. The hay was very dusty and made Hugo sneeze a lot. I just bought some Kaytee Timothy Hay and he LOVES it compared to the kit's hay. I have no idea what that green box is in the stock picture, but my kit didn't include it. You will also need a hut or hiding area of some sort for your guinea. Jumbo igloos and corn huts take up too much space in this small cage, so I just got an Edible Log and took the second story out. The food dish is raised too high but isn't heavy enough to just put on the cage floor. For the time being I've taken an adhesive pad and stuck it to the bottom of the cage. It's probably just better to get supplies and a cage independent from one another. Wish I'd known that before.
