When we first got my border collie dog she pulled 24/7 when ever she was on a leash.. We got the gentle leader and she qureviews earned not to pull now we very rarely use the gentle leader and she is better about not pulling! She hates it but we love her not pulling!!!!!

The Gentle Leader works wonderful when we put it on our dog. She stopped pulling immediately. It's the perfect thing if your dog pulls. I recommend it to you.

I recently got a chocolate lab/ tree walker coonhound puppy and every time we would go for walks I would constantly have to pull his head up and basically forcefully get him to walk because all he wanted to do is sniff the ground wherever it would take him. My trainer suggested this gentle leader to help him walk easier without his nose constantly in the ground. He threw a little fit until he got used to it on his face but eventually helped our walks like a dream. If you have something with a hound that likes to sniff while he walks then you need this gentle leader.

I have a Golden Retriever puppy that weighs about 60 lbs. He knows his commands well, but every time I took him for a walk he would pull hard so I would always use a choke collar. He wouldn't correct his behavior. He would also jump on people. The Gentle Leader worked like a charm! My dog is more obedient overall and I don't have to inflict any pain! It bothers him a little bit because he hasn't gotten used to it, but it's been only the days. Wonderful product!!

I bought this for my ~145 pound mastiff, and after a few walks, we almost always walk with no tension at all.
It can be a little difficult to keep it properly adjusted, but otherwise a great product.

I have a 1 1/2 yr old Yellow lab he is about 65 lbs. and every time I took him for a walk with the usual conventional collar it was a challenge. He will always pull and I had to fight him to get control over him. When I saw the gentle leader collar at the pet store I was reluctant at first thinking this is another expensive product that probably does not work,well I was wrong. since the first day I put the gentle leader on my dog the pulling stopped immediately. Yes he did fought it a few times but I was able to corrected him without much effort. I am very pleased with the product.

We bought the Gentle Leader Headcollar for our twin Vizsla/Lab puppies to replace their outgrown Control Ease headcollars and because the next size up was not available at Petsmart. After 1 walk we knew these were not going to work. Since we had tried the other brand, we thought this would work the same way. Gentle Leader rides too high on the back of their head & doesn't control the direction they are going. It didn't self-correct the dogs like the other brand. They pulled just like they did when using a regular collar and dragged us down the street. Not impressed. They will go back in the morning!

I bought the head collar for my rottweiler lab mixed puppy since he would pull me on the leash so hard he would choke himself. Ever since using the gentle leader he is 100% better. There is no more pulling or struggling.i love this!

We bought these for our four Bichon Havanese who all were pulling like crazy. We have tried everyhing from Lola & Foxy which we love design wise and they still wear just the collars with their nametag.

We were a bit skeptical at first about the premier gentle leader but decided to give it a try. It really works like magic, and I think the reason it works is because the dogs are pulled a little side ways because the leash hook is on the front. They don't have the ability to use their bag legs to give them strength to do the same serious pull like before.

I would truly recommend this product for anyone who is tired of having their dog(s) pull your arm off. Also I feel like we are walking our dogs now, and not the other ways around. This harness is really an over the night magic purchase.

The size can be tricky though. I bought an XS for our puppy who's 3 months. A small for the two that are 9 months, and a medium for the 1 year old. If you can't go to the store to try it on, a medium will fit a much bigger dog, than an adult Havanse so please keep that in mind. Our big Havanese is using a small, and it will expand plenty for him to grow into, because right now it is at its smallest and he's even big bone.

It kind of works on my dog

My dog, Kudos is super afraid of people because she was abused when she was a puppy so she always pulls when people are near her. When I got this it kind of helps but she just goes in panic and starts pulling even with this on. I think it would work for a dog that isn't afraid of things but for dogs that just can't walk on a leash.

My 18 month old lab/retriever was a nightmare to walk, not only because he pulled me but because he would choke himself throughout the entire walk. After placing the face collar on my pup, he immediatly stoped pulling and walks like he has had the best of training!! Definatly worth the money.

My 1 year old lab has always been a strong puller of the leash. It's so important to be able to control your dog on the leash so that both of you can enjoy walks. We have put serious effort into teaching her how to not pull and walk by our side, but have been unsuccessful. If I allow Penny to get going, she could easily pull me off my feet. We've tried the chain choke collar because we didn't want to use the pronged one, but it didn't work. We resorted to the pronged collar despite our reservations about it, and she still pulls, just not as hard. The bottom line is that all of these products just teach a dog to walk in front of you until they feel tension on their neck, rather than reinforce them walking by your side.

The gentle leader was recommended to us and we went and bought one immediately. A DVD is included. It takes less than 30 minutes for the whole thing and it teaches you how to properly fit the head collar to your dog, basic commands, and how to use the collar correctly. All of the negative reviews I've seen for the product seem to be due to the improper fitting of the collar and how you as an owner use this tool. It's very important to watch the DVD to learn how to work with your dog, even if you feel like you he/she is well behaved.

After watching the video, we fitted the collar and she had no problems at all adjusting. She doesn't even notice that it's there, which surprised us. We took it on a test drive and the difference was unbelievable! It only took a second to notice how much more effective this is as compared to the choke collars since you gently redirect your dog's head rather than cause them discomfort or pain. It's no longer a struggle to prevent her from pulling and best of all it reinforces the behavior of walking right next to us rather than ahead of us. I brought treats in case, but it only took gently redirection and verbal praise for her to walk nicely. I have confidence it won't be long until I won't have to use the collar at all.

I absolutely recommend this product!

I have had my 8sh year old dog for 5 years. I am not sure what kind of life she had before I found her, but I know for sure noone spent any sort of time with her on any type of manners. I honestly gave up walking her since I had my 1st daughter, 3 years ago, because I could not control her alone, let alone with a stroller.
I bought this head collar yesterday, and have used it twice so far, for around 30 minutes each time, and WHAT A DIFFERENCE. She stays by my side, most the time. She does paw at the face piece here and there, but I feel that should go away in time.
Try this! Worse situation is that it doesn't work. PetSmart told me to try it, and if it doesn't work, return it. So, what does it hurt to try? TRY IT!

I would reccomend this product. But one thing I would have to say is DEFINANTLY watch the video or thoroughly read the directions. The sizing was very good. I haven't had it very long but so far its held up nicely. The appearence is nice it just looks kind of like a muzzle, which worries some of my neighbors. Overall very nice.
