We buy Kong toys because of their durability.
My dog ate the covering off this in 5 minutes, the squeaker was gone in 10 and the tennis balls were both destroyed in 20 minutes. Very disappointed, especially for the money that was paid for this.
I have other Kong toys that are great, but not this one.

I thought it would be a good substitute for her tennis ball passion but, it was still very easy for her to chew up. I also found she couldn't squeak it very easily.

Very disappointing for a kong product. I have a 3 month old Cavalier and she was able to pull the fabric covering off in minutes -- I have never seen such poor quality. We stick to Kong because of their quality -- do not buy!

I got this toy for my 11 year old Lab. He wanted another Kong bowling pin, but it's been discontinued. The dumbbell was a great alturnative. He loves playing with it, He likes to make it squeak, too. He acts like a puppy again when he plays with it, keeps him entertained better than his other toys.

This product is very durable but my dog often forgets about it because for some reason it is hard for her to squeak. Plus, I think the squeakers are in the ends, and she usually carries it around by the bar. Also, she doesn't like the taste of the tennis ball fabric.

Our beago loved this toy! The squeak is loud, but hey, it is fun for the dog. Our dog is a chewer when it comes to his toys. This toy was a supplemental toy to his Nylabone and other Kong toys. Unfortunately, this toy just did not hold up very long. Within 48 hours, the tennis ball material was peeled off. Three days later, the entire end with the squeaker was bitten and destroyed. We hated to throw away this toy because our dog loved it so much. I wish it was made without the tennis ball material and a bit tougher rubber.

I have one purebred German Shep and a shepherd mix. They are both what I call power chewers and have historically ruined everything they could get their paws on. This would be a toy I would let them play with under supervision for a little while then put away for later short term use. If you're looking for a long lasting, durable soft toy that squeaks, I recommend Tuffy made by VIP Products. I believe Petsmart used to carry this, and I'm no longer certain they do. Their toys are rated on a numeric scale for durability. I have two cloth toys with internal squeakers which have withstood several years of abuse. They haven't torn a single thread out on either of their toys seams!

I used to have a Border Collie and Papillon Mix named Pogo who went crazy for this toy. He'd squeak it and play with it at any chance he could. However, there was sort of a pattern that would happen every time he got a new one. First, he would beg me to throw it. This went on for a few days, and then next he would break the squeaker. Finally, he ripped the toy apart and carried it around. He would rip the fuzz off and try to eat it. He would also chew off bits of rubber. This toy is also obnoxiously loud. He would squeak it like there was no tomorrow. If your dog is a heavy chewer and you don't want him to be eating his toys, I would try to find a more durable toy that can handle powerful chewing. Would not recommend.

I have a lab husky mix, but I bought this toy for my friends golden retriever who is female and has chewed every ball, stuffed toy, bed, she has ever had. This toy has two squeakers on both ends, it is made of that tennis ball material, and is soft cored but hard to get a good grip to actually rip through. It is perfect for those dogs that chew all their toys up, or have to sit in a kennel for long periods of time, and still have lots of energy with nothing to do. She still has this toy and always carries it around.

Pros: durable, Keeps Pet Entertained, easy to wash

I can't believe we've really had this for 6 months and it still looks (and squeaks) like new. I have two rowdy Chihuahuas and they will chew just about any toy apart within minutes. I seriously think they race each other to see who can break the new toy faster... lol Not this one, though! They absolutely love playing fetch with it and it's the perfect size for them too. I am very happy with it and am about to order the AirDog Football for them next. :)
