Bought the largest ring for my 5 month old lab puppy and within 2 hours he had chewed an entire end off (we took it away as soon as we realized he was actually getting chunks off- didn't think that would happen so fast) then proceeded to throw up the pieces the following morning. If a 5 month old, 38lb puppy could chew it up so quick, I can't imagine it would be any good for grown dogs.

I have an avid and tough chewer who destroys ALL bones and toys within an hour. He has had this chew toy for several months and it's still in healthy shape. I highly recommend this to anyone who has a dog that is a destructive chewer.

I am overall satisfied with this product. I have a yorkie/maltese who LOVES to chew on anything! I have bought the Nylabone chew that is softer, and she just ate it. So I decided to try this one, thinking she wouldn't be able to eat it. She hasn't got any of it apart yet and she actually chew on it. (It seems a little hard to me!) This is the toy she goes to when she is pretty bored and needs her chewing fix ;)

Really Durable, but Slippery

My dog is a Jack-Chi and a strong chewer. She has not been able to destroy this one yet, and seems to enjoy it. However, it is slippery and difficult for her to hold on to.

My now 12 month old yorkie/bichon mix loves the durachew. He has had many toys that have been destroyed within an hour. This toys lasts for months. Sometimes pieces will start to fray on the corners and that's when it should be replaced, but for the price it's not a big headache. He loves it!

I bought this for my Maltese when she was a puppy and teething, it only lasted for about a month if not less, when she was around four, five pound, she chewed the edges and tiny bits of it fell off, I took it away and it was all teared up on the sides. If she, as a small dog, can chew the life out of it, other dogs probably could too! and she is NOT a strong chewer, her bites don't event hurt so this product is very poorly made for teething puppies.

My 9 month terrier-mix puppy had the ends frayed and torn up after only 10 minutes. I have no idea why this is called a "DuraChew" when it's obviously not durable and not, as it claims on the packaging, for "powerful chewers." Very disappointed and out $8!
Cons: easily destroyed

I actually brought Stitch a petite sized, bone shaped Nylabone... but he didn't like it. It didn't appeal to him because it didn't have any textures. It seems like only the biggest size for that product had texture.
When I brought this he instantly went for it. The textures and shape lets him have a better grip of it because of his furry paws. He likes the feeling of the textures when he bites it. I am just so glade it is lasting us a very long time even though he gnaws on it everyday, especially at night.
Sometimes I would take a pea sized peanut butter, cheese, or dog tooth paste and rub it on the biting area. He gets extremely excited when he sees me do that. He treats it like an award!! =]
