I was using an Aqueon Full Spectrum 24 inch light for my tank, and because I have a planted tank, I decided to give this light a try. Wow. With a black background and Floramax Midnight Black Substrate it makes things look STUNNING. My Albino Rainbow Shark's red fins look neon red, it is breathtaking. The plants look great, and most importantly, it doesn't make my Clown Loaches hide sometimes like my other light did because its not so bright! PERFECT LIGHT The fish LOVE it.

I switched my Aqua glo lamp to this and what a difference! My Plants look so neon green and have been growing like crazy! My Neon tetras also glow under this light! It makes every thing seem so colorful!

i bought this because the light my hood came with was fading slightly. I knew that this light was going to be more in the red spectrum, but what i did not expect was for the light to hardly reach the bottom of the tank. Not only that, but it washed the colour out of everything in the tank, and massively freaked my fish out. Overall, dissappointing...

I bought this because the day I went to Petsmart, it was the only light they had that would fit my tank's hood. My tank is a long 55 gallon and the light on the other side still worked. I was astounded by how different and more intensely colorful my fish looked on the side with this light. I went back and bought another one today to replace the bulb that was still working. If it really does help my plants grow, that will be just a bonus to me!

I purchased 20 bunches of wisteria and after a few days the plants began to wilt and die. i had no idea i needed a special lamp. i purchased this lamp and figured it was going to be a waste of money. wrong. two days and my plants looked better then when i got them. also after plants came back i started liquid Co2 and trimmed any dead leaves. plants have stayed beautiful now and its been about 4 months. as for previous review obviously there will be defective products but petsmart is always happy to work with you on exchange or money back.

Pros: easy to install, price, works great

my light burnt out on my tank and i wanted to get one to help my plants, so i got this one. It lasted a whole 48 hours(2 days) and then burnt out. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone at all and if I could I would have given it no stars at all.

Pros: easy to install, price
