I do not understand why a company would make something durable like this toy and then add fins to it. I guess that is for the humans, marketing and all. I bought this toy yesterday, gave it to my 4 month old Golden and she has already shredded one of the fins! So for me this was a total waste of the extra money.

I gave it a 5 on the Pet Satisfaction because well she has ripped it up, that makes her happy!

Cons: easily destroyed, didn't work

Ever since we adopted my chocolate lab mix, we have struggled to find toys that he cannot destroy quickly but will actually play with as he does not like hard rubber toys. This and the alligator by the company are the BEST toys. Yes, he eventually destroyed his first one, but it took him a long time. He's now on his second "sharkie" and cannot figure out how to destroy it again yet. I would definitely recommend it!

I have a one year old husky/shepherd/boxer mix. Toys don't live long in my house. Thank goodness for the Petsmart guarantee. BUT these are my puppies favorites! The shark and crocodile have lasted for months and she grabs them over and over. The octopus body got unstuffed, but the legs are still intact. I LOVE this manufacturer!

My dog loves this toy. Several squeekers inside. Amazing they are still alive and intact. Normally my dog digs these out within a few days. We've had this toy for over 6 months, no holes and squeekers still work. Great toy.

We've bought this particular brand before and we've almost always been pleased, and this product is no exception.

We have three dogs - two 40 pounds mutts that have been known to chew through wood and drywall, and a 10 pound Chihuahua/Peke who has razor-sharp teeth that can puncture nearly anything. Typical soft toys have a life span of approximately five minutes in our house, particularly if the dogs get into a tug-of-war with them.

This toy stands up to that abuse. There is some fraying almost immediately, but unlike other soft toys that are disemboweled with ease, the stuffing remains intact and the toy retains its structural integrity.

This shark is NOT indestructible - I'm not sure I'd want it to be since that would probably mean it would be hard on my dogs' teeth and gums - but it is VERY durable. If it follows the pattern of other toys from this company, it will last for 6-12 months and be a favorite toy the entire time.

As an aside - I appreciate the fact that the squeaker takes some work to make noise, and that when they do find it the sound it makes isn't loud and obnoxious.

I have a 2 year old, 65lb German Shepard that is super hyper and destroys toys regularly. Over the past few months she has managed to chew off one of the fins and we have had a bit of stuffing come out of the mouth but overall This toy has been awesome! She is getting a bunch of toys from this company for Christmas!

I have this as well as the alligator and they are AWESOME! I have an English Mastiff puppy that destroys regular toys in no time. This shark is truly durable. When it is chewed I will buy again.

Our dog pretty much chews up everything we give in within a day. Very few toys have lasted! He loves this thing! He has chewed up the fins a lot but I just cut off any loose ends and he goes back at it. He has had it a few weeks already and its still going strong! We are getting more of these for sure!

I've read the other reviews and I don't get it. I LOVE this toy. My pit bull loves stuffed toys but cannot have them because he destroys them in seconds, he also destroys stuffingless toys. He and I stopped into Petsmart one night for something special as a reward. One of the girls recommended this toy to us. He's had it for 3 weeks, plays with it every couple of days for hours on end and it's still going strong. Definitely worth the $18 I spent on it. I think I'll be getting more of them.

Bought this toy because it was suppose to be "ultra tough" well with 5mins of giving it to my 11 month old golden doodle the mouth was shredded and cotton all over. I am left wondering what ultra tough means to the company.
I would not waste your time or money on this

My 45 lb. rescue dog loved this toy, but in less than a minute it was shredded, stuffing everywhere and it destined for the trash can. I would have rated it zero stars but I had to give it one star to submit a review. However she did have fun wasting my $15 so I guess 1 star is ok. Don't buy this if your dog is a heavy chewer, it won't be around for long. I had purchased a different brand of "tough" toy from another big pet supply store which lasted several weeks. As i was in PetSmart this time I picked this one up as a replacement because appeared to be the same quality, sadly it was not and I'm out $15.
