Water seeps through the stone constantly. Water doesnt last but a few hours. Empty bowl and wet cage.

I bought this product and I've had it for a while but I started noticing how the water just disappears. I'll fill it up before I go to school and when I get home its gone and sometimes when I'm at home all day It appears to be gone faster. I wasn''t sure what was going on so I decided to reasd the reviews and see if anyone else had this problem. Turns out every other review said that. So I I'm gonna get a better bowl. Oh and when I clean it the sand seems to kinda stick to it and leaves some darker spots on there. Not that much of big deal but the water leaking or disappearing somehow is.

As a water bowl this product is pretty useless. For some reason it constantly empties and needs refilling multiple times per day. Even morning and night refills won't cut it. I have a suspicion though that it doesn't actually leak like other reviewers state; I think the textured surface of the bowl actually wicks water out. I'm not sure whether that water then evaporates - which could be great for improving the humidity of the crabitat - or whether the water is deposited into the substrate. Either way, it goes away fast.
Pros: stylish, sturdy
Cons: hard to clean

I purchased this water dish for my two hermit crabs simply because it was large, and had a nice beach look to it.
I constantly had to refill the dish and I was also noticing the sand in the aquarium was clumping up. Tonight, I come home to find the aquarium flooded with water. I would not suggest this product because it leaks and is not worth the hassle. Haven't even had it a week and i'm taking it back first thing tomorrow!!!
