I have tried many cat litters over the years.. I have 2 cats.. I was told this litter was less tracking & it was rated 2nd.. .not true.. It tracks all over.. I have a cover over the box & we can still smell the urine & poo after they use it,... I have to change it within the hour.. This litter sticks to the bottom. You have to literally scrape the bottom..it doesn't clump well but the feces fall apart when you scoop. For the price I thought it would be a good one.. At the Pets Mart here in Charlotte NC I was told the generic brand of this was the same litter but not named brand so it was 2-3 $$ less.. thought id give it. Try..It was actually worse.. many cat litters..I need the non scented kind. Anyone else have these same issues? Ug!!

I love this natural product the my cats can eat when it's clean as it is all wheat, no additives. It scoops easily and can be refreshed quickly. I have 6 cats and the multicat version works well to keep each litter box clean and fresh smelling, no one asks if I have cats when they enter my home, unless they see a cat. :-)

Team,
i have had cats for 13 years and this is by far the BEST Litter control I have used, one important thing that I like is the fact of how light weight the clumps are after when disposing of. thanks, Bassman.
Pros: easy to clean, eliminates odor, low dust

I adopted a cat 2 weeks ago after not having one for a couple years and figured there might finally be something out there that was better than the old-fashioned clay litters. So, I asked a friend, who has several cats and is environmentally conscience, and she recommended Swheat Scoop. And I'm glad she did, because it's just as good as she and the other reviewers said. I clean out the little box every day, and 2 weeks later, it's still fresh and doing a great job clumping and covering up odor. I haven't tried flushing it, because I live in an old home and don't want to chance it, so I can't comment on that. It does still track a little, so there's still some sweep-up required. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product and would highly recommend it.

Much better value for money than a certain corn based more expensive brand. Litter has no strong odour, clumps pretty well, lasts long. If my cat covers her poo then litter seals in smell well but she generally doesn't.
Just make sure the litter is deep enough or else the urine sticks to the bottom. But even when it does stick, it's easy to scrape off with a flat bottomed scoop.

We have three adopted cats. One was declawed by a previous owner. She seemed to have issues with clay litter and some others that we tried. Swheat Scoop hasn't been a problem for her.
Read the other reviews for Swheat Scoop's dust-free nature, its clumping capabilities and its good odor control, and other fine qualities. We pay more for this and we're very happy with it. As are our cats.
Pros: eliminates odor, low dust, easy to clean

I have 10 (yes ten) cats & they use one litter box. Well, 9 of them do- the British Shorthair uses the tub since the 7 siblings came along. SWheat is the best. cheaper than World's Best & has these redeemable coupons- collect a dozen, sent them in, get a free bag or box. I've tried ALL brands. Try it- you might become a convert.

We've been using this for many years and our cats have loved it and I certainly love it. Safe litter and easy to scoop out. Certainly less messy than clay litters and there's no odor which is VERY nice. You'll be happy with this product ... my kitties are :-)

I used clay litter over the lives of many cats. When I found out that the wheat was made from non-consumable wheat-product I decided to try it. It has become more pricey as it has become more popular, but I think still worth the money (interchangable w/loose corn-check pricing).
I have 3 cats (2 males, 1 female), 2 bxs. and do not have any urine ordor problems, although all my cats are spayed/neutered. As to having a few pieces of litter come out on the feet of the cat, put a small catch-all rug at the opening of the box and empty when cleaning box(s) or switch to recycled-paper pellets.
The easiest way I find to clean the boxes is to pick up one side of box and move unclumped litter all to one side. Clean. Repeat with other side of box. If a little litter is stuck to bottom of box, use a baby wipe or some "TP" to clean bottom of box. I do my boxes twice a day maybe why it seems so easy to me. If your cats are producing large amounts of urine and they are not 15lbs.+, I would get them checked for diabetes.

I have had cats for 45 years & have tried almost everything there is clay, pine, paper, corn, you name it and finally I tried Swheat Scoop after it being recommended by a Petsmart employee who used it & have been using it ever since. it clumps, has no dust (which used to be everwhere, and my sinuses could not handle!), doesn't track much at all . it does sick to your litter box but if you use a liner, there is no problem the clumps do not stick to the liner & are easy to despose of and the liners do not have to be changed that often if you buy a decent one

Here's a hint

I have to say that I'm surprised at some of these bad reviews. The main thing to remember, when using this litter, is that it needs to be deep. This allows the urine to form a ball, and solidify before hitting the bottom. If you only put an inch or two in there, it will form a pancake on the bottom of the box, and glue itself there. It needs to be about four inches deep. You need a deep box too, to keep them from scattering it. If you scoop everyday, this prevents the cats from breaking up the urine balls, which causes odor to form from the urine-soaked bits. I add litter now and then, to maintain the depth, and am able to go through two bags without changing the box. When I do change the box, I keep scooping, but not adding litter, until there's not enough for them to go--this does result in "pancakes" stuck to the bottom, that I must scrape off, but it's my way of not wasting any of this expensive litter. Or, when it starts to smell, (because I'm letting urine hit the bottom), I change it. When people come to my house, they CANNOT tell I have cats. Mission accomplished. Also, this litter is very light, and much easier to scoop. It does track, but what litter doesn't, and it doesn't make my cats' feet all pasty, like some others. I don't like a litterbox smell--not even clean, scented litter. To me that says,"I have CATS!". There is no cat, or litter smell in my house, after all these years, and I love that! I used to work in a pet store, and recommended this litter to many customers, who came back to thank me. Don't let these other reviews stop you from trying it.

This product is effective at controlling odor, however, I've noticed some folks don't rate it highly. My suggestion to is to be sure you have sufficient depth of the product in the cat's box. If not you may experience the sticky bits or hard clumps on the bottom of the pan mentioned by some. Also the Multicat formula clumps better. If your cats urinate in the same spot repeatedly the extra large saturated clumps can begin to smell so sifting daily is key. I personally use more than the 3-inch or so depth recommended for best results with my 3 cats and found this product to perform better than all the other clay and corn varieties I've tried.

I had higher hopes for this litter. Was using Dr. Elsey's and hoped to find another litter that worked just as well, cost a little less, was more biodegradable, and didn't weigh a ton... I have 3 cats.
With Sweatscoop I didn't smell cat urine, but something else. When used it has a very sour smell to it. It also tracks EVERYWHERE!!! I found a piece of litter this morning in the very chair I'm sitting in. I'm going to be throwing the rest of the litter out, get a new bag of the old stuff that worked wonderfully, and vacuum, vacuum, vacuum. Very disappointing.

I had high hopes for this product, but it just did not do the job. Every morning i would clean the box, by the time I would come home from work I could smell it, and I only have 1 cat. It doesn't clump it makes a pasty clay mess. And stick to his paws making a mess everywhere.

My cat urinates a LOT and this causes some problems with most litters, but Swheat Scoop is the absolute worst natural litter I've used. I don't know if you've ever made oatmeal and left it out to dry, but that's essentially what it did. It had congealed from all the liquid and became cemented to my kitty box. I had to scrape out what I could and soak the rest as though my cat box was a lasagna pan. I think I will stick with the pine litters.

Worth the Cost

As soon as I returned home with this, my husband declared that we could not spend $30 on cat litter. Even I cringed when the cashier rang it up. But, I was sick of clay and the dust, smell, and sticky mess that came with it. It was such a pain to clean. I also wondered what it was doing to the environment. So, along with this litter, I also purchased Whisker City® High-Back Open Pan to help with the misses. Together, they are so effective that I no longer dread cleaning the litter box.
The litter, itself, is light and fluffy with a sweet, earthy smell. It's clumping power is in line with that of the leading clay clumping litters. But, it's even better, because I don't have to struggle with scraping it from the sides and corners, building up a gooey mess on my scooper.
We have two cats and only one litter box. Right now, it is in one of the worse places it could be, the foyer of our bi-level. Recently, my step-mother (who is a neat freak and sensitive to smells) stayed with us for a week and even commented on how clean our home and the litterbox smelled.
After using it for the past month, it is time to purchase more litter. I knew that I was sold on it, but what about my penny-pinching (and justly so) husband? My husband (who has been cleaning out the litterbox the most) agreed that we needed to buy it again. It is well worth the price. We are converts.
One con, is that it does get pulled out of the box by the cats, but it is easily swept or vacuumed up. I hope this helped anyone looking for an alternative litter.

it is a great litter. i have 5 cats, with 3 large litter pans. there is a proublem with the odor problem, there is NONE, so i forget to scoop the pans. a 40 # bag last about a month. no dust, no odor. this litter is great. i have used tidy cat for about 50 years, and i used alot more of it, switching my cats over to the new litter was very easy. I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH, ABOUT SWHEAT SCOOP, IT IS THE BEST LITTER.

Low Odor Control

May 19, 2011
by G8TR
fromRaleigh, NC
I really wanted to like this litter. A neighbor of mine swears by it. I have two cats though, and I noticed that it did a very poor job with odor control. I clean the box at least once a day but the scent of urine just got stronger and stronger. I gave it a good chance, probably went through 3 or 4 bags. There was also a small problem with tracking, but not as bad as a pine variety I tired. The pine had much better odor control though!
Pros: easy to clean, low dust
Cons: messy, Doesn't Eliminate Odor
