Iams can do better than this for puppys. The first and 2nd ingredients, Chicken and Chicken By-Product Meal. " Yuck". Though Chicken is good it should be placed further back in the lineup of prime ingredients because we all know thats wet weight, prior to being processed and after processing you only get 20 to 25%. Bottom line is its a 2nd rate source for meat protein and dogs are Carnivores. Followed by 4 types of grains of mediocre quality this food is predominately a plant based food with a moderate amount of meat. I would not feed it to my puppy but for someone who's budget for dog food is low, its better than other Grocery Store Brands.

My 4 month old American Bulldog has been eating it for a month now ... got her off that Puppy Chow the breeder had her on. She loves it, hates to miss one morsel, searches all around her bowl to see if some spilled out in her feverish eating pace. I can see her getting bigger and stronger every day. Do yourself a huge favor and print off the page for the food with the price. Reason is, up here in Canada the price is $42.99 regular and $38.99 with your Pet Perks card, however, the website says it is $33.99 regular and on sale for $29.99 which the store will honor.

After checking the labels, this food seemed to have the best ingredients of the lower priced comparables. After my pup got a rash I did some more researched and decided to invest in a bag of top of the line food. I was told by an associate I would see huge changes.... I didn't. Even at my pups last check up, her dr even said he wouldn't prefer a top of the line food to this one. Anyways, she didn't eat more, she actually ate less. So the more expensive food isn't always worth it! I will def stick to this brand from now on!
