Scoop not Durable

I recently purchased this scoop at a Petsmart store. It broke in half after one week of regular use. I've bought cheaper scoops that were more durable. I recommend save yourself the hassle and buy a metal scoop.

clumsy to use

I found the length and angle of this scoop very difficult to use. I thought it would help my back since it's so much longer than usual, but it just made me bend over strangely, which hurt more. I have 3 large litter boxes, but the scoop itself didn't seem to fit right. And I don't know if it's they type of litter I use, or my cats, but I have to scrape the bottoms of the boxes and this didn't scrap cleanly, and it was very hard to get the residue off of the scoop. I found this a complete waste of money and energy.

Love the Long Handle; Dislike the Angle

This was my second option for a litter scoop, as my first option (the stainless steel scoop) was out-of-stock. Living in an area with only one pet store that carries a stainless steel scoop, I had to switch to the second option: the sturdiest plastic scoop.

PROS
- Thick Plastic
- Long Handle: This is great for litter boxes with high sides. I love that I don't have to bend over as much to clean the box.
- Price: While it's definitely more than a $3.00 scoop, it is about half the price of my first preference.

CONS
- Strange Angle: This may explain why some people are having problems with the handle snapping. After a week I am still getting used to the sudden change in the angle of the scoop in comparison with the handle.
- Serrated Edge: It seems to get dirtier than a scoop with a straight-edge. Also, it is useless for getting a clump clearly off the side of a box.

Overall, I gave it four stars because I appreciate the long handle and the apparent sturdiness. I wish the angle was different and that the edge wasn't serrated, but overall I am pleased. I would recommend with reservations.

Great product, until it broke

I'm giving this scoop two stars instead of one because it really does seem sturdier than regular cat scoops.

I don't know if it's the angle of the handle to the scoop or if this cat I'm watching has super powers, but the scoop snapped off the handle the second time I used it. The upside is that now it dislodges clumps much more effectively.

Now I'm shopping for a metal scoop to replace this one.

This scooper is awesome! It has a very strong handle that is sturdy and doesn't bend. I have 9 rescued cats right now and use it ALL of the time...would definitely recommend to others!!

Bought our first one several months ago & got tired of carrying it from room to room, so finally went back to store yesterday & bought more. We now have one at each litterbox. It is absolutely the best litter scoop we've ever had (and we've had many). Would I recommend to anyone? Absolutely. Already did, as a matter of fact, and they love theirs too! (My back thanks me daily.)

The handle is too long which means the balance is all off. It's too hard to use if you hold the handle the way it is meant to be held. I had to hold it closer to the scoop. I thought it would be great. I was wrong. Tsk.

Don't Buy This Product Under Any Circumstances

The product looks pretty on the shelf but is terrible and very badly designed. The serration's and protruding corners on front means that you can't push it all the way to the side edge of the litter box.

The front edge is too thick and there is a cup like curve under the bottom front that prevents the scooper from scraping the bottom of the litter box. Waste that is stuck to the bottom is difficult to scoop or break up. The litter piles up in front as you push it forward taking tremendous effort to push it. The handle has too sharp an angle from the scooper loosing leverage making forward motion even more difficult. To scoop you have to bulldoze through the litter with a rocking motion. Avoid this product at all costs. This product is no bargain even if its being given away for free.

This scoop is sturdy and has a grip on the handle. It's a thicker plastic than most scoops, which is great. It is also longer than typical scoops, so you don't have to bend down as far to clean the box.

i bought this after a couple of my litter scoops either broke the handles off when i tried to scoop through too much litter or the scoop itself cracked.
i figured this one would be sturdy and it is and the long handle is great as you don't have to bend down as far to clean the litter box. the scoop part is fairly large which is good and it looks and feels like it'll last a long time.

This is the best scoop I have ever used. The larger size makes short work out of large litter pans and even catches the small stuff. The long handle is wonderful for a litter box with high sides. Also you do not have to bend over as far or worry about flinging something on you. I plan to buy a spare so I will never be without this style of scoop.
