I got this for my hamster and he ignored it. I asked the nice lady who worked there and she said it was mostly for guinea pigs and rabbits......... Hamsters aren't supposed to have salt so it makes sense

I've had some pets that enjoyed this, others that didn't. It really depends on the animal and what they enjoy. I had it for my Hamsters and only a couple liked them, I had them for my Guinea Pigs and only 2 total Pigs liked them. I had/know people who had these for Rabbits and they're Rabbits loved them.
Pros: taste, price

I got a gerbil brochure that had a shopping list so I bought one my friend has guinea pigs and she has this along with a salt one so I thought it wud make sense to get one for gerbils but they completely ignore it and it just ends up buried they r in an aquarium so I can't put it on a ring and attatch it to the cage so I. Thinking why wud I need one of these if my gerbils wanted it or needed it they would use it! I can't say pros and cons cuz I don't know why my gerbils don't use it!

My robo and syrian totally ignored these. My rabbits on the other hand LOVED these. Don't get for hamster get for rabbit.

This may be a necessary supplement to cattle and deer, but guinea pigs don't need (and won't use) this supplement. Save your money and buy them a (non-yogurt, non-dairy, seedless) treat instead.
