These peanuts are great for the birds and squirrels that frequent our yard. Bluejays and robins are among the more colorful birds that love these peanuts. And, as the previous poster noted, they don't make a big mess like the ones in shells. I still provide the ones in shells though, because the woodpeckers love them and I like hearing them cracking them open against a tree branch! You should still provide black sunflower seeds or a mixed bird seed for the smaller birds that don't care for peanuts!!

Have been using these peanuts for years to feed my squirrels and chipmunks. A much better deal than buying peanuts in the shell as those empty shells leave a mess to clean-up, and a bag last much longer than a bag of peanuts in the shell. Also my bluejays love the peanuts, too. They wait in my trees for me to bring out the peanuts in the morning, then they squawk real loud to tell everyone that the peanuts have arrive.
