My finches love the nest when I first put in the cage they love being in the nest and I got the giant nest I think it's roomier than the original size and I recommend the giant size for breeding or just having a pair in there

i bought 2 finches and i bought this nest for them its horrible!!! they cant fit in there and they had to sleep in the branch i gaved them they laid 2 eggs but let them drop because didint have a nest well finally i bought them a better nest yesterday and they fit in the other one and spend almost all day there but these one horrible!!

Good Finch Nest

I've been using these nests for over a year. All my finches like these nests whether to sleep in them at night or for sitting on eggs/raising babies. If you plan on using it for breeding, I suggest you get the giant one. Our society finch pair had a clutch of 4 babies in this small sized nest and one of the chicks fell out of the nest a couple times right before they were old enough to fledge (we had to pick them up and put them back), and with 6 society finches total, heads were definitely hanging out of the nest when they were all crammed in there at night. Society finches would rather use one big nest versus 2 small nests, so definitely get the giant size if you have more than 2 finches or plan to breed. All in all, it's a good choice for finches.

I had purchased the regular sized nest for my first pair of finches ever, and the second i had placed it in the cage, I realized that it was too small for both zebra finches to fit into. I had kept it in there for some time, and one would sleep in it at a time[usually the female]. They never actually added any material to the nest besides a blade of grass that had gotten caught on the female's foot.
I recently purchased the larger model, and, with some encouragement with millet spray, they built the nest up to the very brim. I have seen them sleeping in it every night since they began to build the nest.
I added a second pair to the same cage, and they not only fit in the nest, but they all sleep in it together every night. I would definitely recommend the giant nest even if you are only housing one pair of finches. As a whole, I enjoy the product very much with the exception of the fact that you can not open in up and check eggs/chicks if there were to be any, which in my view is a somewhat scary thing. Although, I may just be over reacting to it because it was drilled into my head to check the nest every single day while I was breeding budgies.

My Finches couldn't live without these nests!!! They're always jumping in and out, and sleeping in them! My Finches have already layed 4 eggs in one of them! Great product for Finches and other small birds.
