I recently purchased a 45g bowfront for a tropical tank, I put white sand in for an awesome effect and because its easier to clean so I was a little worried I would lose alot of it. I didn't as long ss I held it about half an inch above the sand and it worked like a charm. I was going to go with a large but a medium size worked out just great!
*on a side note, the white sand looks great but you can see everything that falls down there, I'm thinking of adding a small amount of black sand to hide it a bit if a bottom feeder doesnt work because I really dont want to vacuum every day :)

I picked up the first gravel vac for my daughter's tank. Its the small version and it works great. Simple to put together and it stays together. Since the small one works so well, I got the extra large one for my 45G.
The price is good too compared to the other brands.

I was honestly surprised with how well this product worked! I didn't expect much since it was a self-start siphon and I'm used to using ones that hook up to your sink. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I was able to siphon my 29 gallon quite easily. I would definitely recommend it.

I am so happy with this product! I have 2 goldfish, so I needed a better way to clean the gravel in my tank--rather than take my fish out, and rinse out the whole fish tank. It just takes a couple pumps, and then water starts moving into the bucket. You can sift through the gravel, without the rocks going up the tube. My fish don't seem to mind it much, either. Great product!

I just picked this up today to help with some of the cleaning and it Really helps. it can get all the "dirt" off and out from under the rocks. and it is also great for taking the water out of the tank with less mess which is nice. glad I got it

This is a cheap and cool product, but at first it was hard to use. I'm sure eventually I'll figure it out, but DON'T use it on small (less than 1 gal) tanks. It also sucks out a lot of water.:p

This is honestly my first gravel pump; so I have nothing to compare it to... but this pump is easy to assemble- and as listed: it only takes a few pumps to get the water flowing. I was doing a partial water change for my 29 gal. tank- (10% change)- and it took (at most) 4 to 5 minutes. I tested the vacuum power for picking up 'debris' from the gravel bed- and it didn't really get much until I gave the pump a few more squeezes. I would have liked to see more gravel churned to release more waste to be cleaned- but all in all: an effective and affordable pump :)

I bought this vacum today because i thought it would be easier to use them my old one. It is very easy to use and get started except it doesnt suck up anything at all! It only sucks up water and very slowly at that! it took me about 3 mins just to fill up a 2.5 gallon bucket.

Makes water changing hassel free! I bought a medium size pump for my 26 gallon bow aquarium and the whole water changing process took five minutes. For under $15 dollars you cannot beat this! You will need to make sure the hoses stay secure, and I could see where in the future I may have modify to aide with this. No, this product is not of the highest quality, but for the hobbyist on budget you can not beat this.

This is the first gravel cleaner I've ever bought, and I'm very pleased with it. Very use to use, takes a second to pop on the tube then another to squeeze the ball. I don't have any problems with the tubes coming off on me.

Don't bother with those expensive, fancy gravel vacuums, this one works great! It's strong, and easily started! It removes a lot of fish debris, like one of the more expensive gravel vacuums, while having a reasonable, cheap price! Buy!!
