This is WAY too small for two bettas let alone one! A single betta should have ATLEAST 2 gallons. The only thing I would use this for is to house my betta while cleaning his 3.5 tank. You could probably get a better tank around 2 gallons for $15-20.

This is a horrible home for a betta. It's WAY too small for one, let alone two. There is no safe way to heat it, Bettas are tropical fish and NEED a heater. How would you like to live in a cold bathroom and have to share that space with another person? If the fish is laying on one spot with clamped fins, it is NOT healthy or happy.

These half gallon tanks are really bad for any fish. Bettas need a filter to have a long healthy life and at very least 2 gallons to really thrive. Spoil your betta and give them a nice large tank that can old 5 gallons or more:)

Ok, so this was a starter tank for my betas but after two days they managed to end up on the same side of the tank and needless to say one of my poor betas got pretty beat up. This tank is better housing only one fish. Also, in the winter I need to add a heater to the water to keep the betas warm but unfortunately this tank is not equipped for that. I would recommend for only one fish!

I origanaly bout this for my betta fish Poseiden, but he passed on and earlier this week I got 2 african dwarf frogs named Karma and Lucky. There is enough room for them in there, and more room or another frog later. I am also planning to get an Betta fish to put in there too ( female though). Overall I reccommend this product for both African Dwarf Frogs and Betta Fish. Great Product!

I got this tank as a starter tank for my Betta, Sushi II. It works well, since I needed a tank with a full lid so my cat doesn't go fishing. It works well, however now that it is winter, I'm needing to upgrade to a larger tank with a heater to keep my fish warm enough. This tank is easy to set up, easy to clean, and has enough space for one fish to be comfortable.

This isn't suitable for any fish! A betta needs at least 3 gallons, preferably 5-10. They also need a heater which this kit doesn't provide. They are tropical fish! With a tank this small proper temperatures are extremely hard to maintain (75*-85*). Cold water will stress the betta, cause him to become lethargic and even develop diseases such as fin rot and ich/ick. Without a filter toxic nitrogen compounds (ammonia, nitrIte, nitrAte) will develop which also leads to disease and death. All the way around this setup is not a good choice for a single betta let alone two as the image suggests.

I love this product and would definetly recommend it. The divider is tricky to get in and is removable but very sturdy if you get it in properly. Liberty and Cosmo love it and it comes with all of the betta essentials. Overall a great product .
Pros: sturdy

I just recently got a female betta (so she's small and still a baby) and as soon as I put her into this tank without using the divider she loves it. I made sure I cleaned all the rocks before putting them into the tank and it didn't become cloudy or anything. I am defiantly happy with this purchase.
Pros: easy to install, easy to clean, sturdy

First, any tank of any size will produce cloudy water if you are using new gravel. Cloudiness will occur more quickly in a smaller tank such as this, but a larger tank will still require cycling. Cycling, with frequent complete or partial water changes several times a week, allows time for growth of sufficient colonies of beneficial bacteria on the gravel (and filter media) to neutralize ammonia from fish waste. The more fish you add at one time, the more ammonia waste will build up, unless the gravel or filter media has already been cycled. Cycling can naturally can take up to 2-3 months of frequent water changes. If you already have old previously used gravel which has already been cycled and contains beneficial bacteria, not even this small tank will get cloudy. If you don't have previously used cycled gravel, you can use any product like Nutrafin Cycle which contains bacteria to help cycle a new tank with new gravel. Carbon filtration would not remove ammonia, only beneficial bacterial growth on gravel and filter media will remove ammonia and cloudiness naturally.
I have all of my 16 bettas happily living in 2.5 gallon Aqueon bowfront tanks displayed on open shelving units, but these 0.5 gallon tanks are perfect temporary housing for one betta while cleaning their larger tanks. I like to let the larger tanks run a day or 2 after cleaning before reintroducing the betta, especially to make sure that the water temperature has reached room temperature at least 74 degrees.
Before buying these small tanks, I used to use the pint size cups that bettas are sold in while their tanks were being cleaned, but found that bettas are much less stressed if they are housed in these hotels for up to a few days while their homes are in renovation. These tanks are really too small for permanent betta housing. It would be like asking a dog to live his life in a closet.
Bettas can live 4 years in a larger tank. 5 gallons makes them happiest, but 2 gallons is suffiicient. I found that my bettas are happier, healthier, maintain longer fins, and are more active after I switched to the 2.5 gallon Aqueon bowfront tanks where the water moves via the included pump. I have all pumps and lights on an 8 hour timer so each betta can rest in their 2 silk plants and build bubble nests underneath the pump at night. This system has worked well for me, and hopefully will work well for you and your betta friend too.
Pros: easy to install, easy to clean, sturdy

DO NOT BUY!

I bought this tank thinking that would be simple to maintain. My Betta does not like this. The water gets cloudy everyday and it costs a lot to keep the water clean and maintained.
I plan on buying the Five gallon Aqueon aquarium starter kit. This way, I can add three more fish in it as well as 2 ghost shimp.
DO NOT BUY THIS unless you are will to test the water, emply out 1/2 of it daily, and condition the water on a daily basis. You are much better off paying for the 2.5 Aqueon gallon aquarium for your betta. TRUST ME, he/she will thank you for it.

You shouldnt buy this product. It's too small for even 1 betta. The least you should get for your betta is a 2.5 gallon. If you do buy this, then you'd have to do 100% water changes daily.Or even twice daily is better. They sell a 2.5 g tank for only 13 bucks. You also should get your betta a heater. They are TROPICAL FISH.I repeat, TROPICAL FISH.Zoo Med sells a mini heater for 1-3 gallons for only 14 bucks. So there's no excuse why you can't buy your betta a nice 2.5 gal or larger. Also, you dont have to buy those betta water conditioners.Adding a couple of drops after you have conditioned the water might not hurt though. For food, I recommend Omega One betta pellets. So once again, do not buy this product unless you're willing to do 100% once or twice daily water changes.
