I have a 14 lb Shorkie and he broke the line after a few months. He like to go for those squirrels and it not that he pulled it from the ground. He went running for the squirrel and the line just snapped. I figured since it went up to 100 lbs he could try to run all he wanted. I was so wrong. Poor quality and breaks easy just dot waste your money no matter how small your dog is!

My dog is a fairly large athletic beagle (35lbs) and I chose the 75lbs+ rated cable. Less than a year of use I go outside to let him in and find that the cable had snapped half way down the length. These cables are very poor construction, I do not recommend for dogs over 10lbs.

WOULD NOT RECCOMMEND...DESCRIPTION IS MISLEADING

I bought this tie out yesterday to use with my dog who weighs roughly 65 lbs...On the package this tie out says it is good for up to 100 lb dogs. I double checked to make sure there wasn't something that mentioned something like "if your dog is strong you might consider a bigger stake" but there was nothing. I put the stake in the grouNd, which was very easy and then I put my dog in his harness and collar and hooked the lead from the stake to both his harness and collar. About 5 minutes later my dog saw a squirrel and made a run for it...that was the end of the tie out. While it did stay in the ground (which was good because my dog didn't get away) it bent completely. I had the stake screwed into the ground as far as it would go and it bent from the top. The problem now is that I can't screw it back into the ground to ever use again...now I just have a hunk of metal without a purpose. I think they need to mention that a stronger dog NEEDS the lead that they say is good for up to soemthing like 250 lbs. To me it looked sturdy enough, but i would have throught the company would do more testing or something? VERY MISLEADING, VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!
