My kitty loves his fountain. He wouldn't drink water from his bowl and would just turn it over with all the water in it. I got him this fountain and he loves to drink from the top well. He loves putting his toy mice in the in the water in the bottom well. I guess he thinks they need to drink too. LOL

We had to get a fountain because one cat simply refused to drink water from a bowl, we had to leave a faucet dripping or he'd become dehydrated.
This is our 2nd fountain (both have been Drinkwells), but this one is far superior to our older one (the model with the optional water bottle on the back). We've had this one for almost a year (the other one still worked well after three years, I just liked the features of this one).
1) This is much easier to clean, not nearly as many nooks and crannies as the old one (except I'm not sure why the top reservoir has the narrow channel around the outside edge, that's the only hard-to-clean area).
2) The filter is between where the cats drink and the pump; this prevents cat hair from building up on the pump's intake.
3) The old one had a cover on top that one cat would constantly knock off unless I taped it down, this one doesn't have any parts the cats knock off.
4) The old one was easy for the cats to push around by head-butting it; this one stays put.
I have two cats, and usually only need to add water about every 6 or 7 days.
As for those who complain about the noisy pump ... that only happens when the water is very low OR when the filter needs attention. If the filter is clogged, the water can't get through to the pump (the noise is from air being sucked into the pump). Either replace the filter or clean it off and put it in with the other side down (because the bottom half is what clogs up).
Otherwise, the unit is extremely quiet, with only a slight water trickling sound (not a dripping sound, more like a gentle brook trickling over rocks).
The area around the fountain is always dry, except when I miss when refilling it; the cats never splash any nor does any splash out on its own (the waterfall is designed well).
The only possible con is that you can't adjust the water flow, it is what it is. The old one could be adjusted. However, the cats don't seem to mind the water flow rate.
Pros: durable, Slide Resistant, easy to clean, Spillproof

I've had this less than a year and the pump just failed. Unplugged the fountain to clean it, plugged it back in and the pump wouldn't start. For the price, you'd expect it to last longer.

I got this water fountain in replace of a different brand that didn't work out. I love this one! The color, style, and size are perfect for a small area! It runs quiet, which is a problem I have had with cats and fountains. As far as people saying that this model is annoying because of the maintenance...let's just put it this way...if chunks of debris get into any fountain, you're going to have to clean it out. Food and litter debris will ruin the filter and clog up the pump. I think it works great! And regardless of the fact that my cats have a filtered fountain, I still empty it out, wipe the unit, change the filter, and add clean water and couple times a month. It doesn't splash either, even with all that water in it, which the cats seem to like that it has a lot of water. The other complaint was that if you don't keep it full to the top it makes a bad noise. Honestly, when I hear it, it just reminds me to quick dump a couple glasses of water into it!

I love this waterbowl. It is so quiet, you can have it in any room and the sound of dripping water won't bother you. (I could never have the bowl in the bedroom before: I would wake up hearing the water running and not be able to fall asleep again.)
The only problem I have is with Petsmart:
Why do you not carry the filters for it?!!!

This is a fantastic product. Many of the noise complaints or that the fountain has to be filled to the top are caused from dirty clogged filters. I have 3 cats that use this fountain and love it. I have experienced the motor/air bubble/water noises and all you need to do is replace the filter. Extremely quiet, does not leak, water is clean and cats love it. There is no tubing and its a simple 2 piece unit plus lump. A definate plus in cat hydration!

I recieved this a gift for my kiddies after my female cat would not stop getting up on the bathroom sink and begging for the faucet to be turned on! It was getting out of hand and we thought a foutain would be a great solution considering that our other cat does not prefer to drink from streams of water (the two basins provide this option). It makes a little bit of noise when running regularly but does make incredibly annoying grinding noises when it is running low on water. It definately lets you know when the filter needs to be changed too. It will continually make these grinding noises until you take the whole thing apart and give it a good scrubbing and filter change. Would love to know the exact replacement filter to use though! Overall, this has been much more of a pro than a con in our lives!

I loved the design of this fountain because I have one cat that adores drinking falling water and one that doesnt, so it seemed to fit the bill. It would be GREAT if the water volume didnt have to be so high before annoying air noises scared the cats away and annoyed the humans. I have tried to figure out ways to remedy this, but it isnt possible. Seems to be the way it is designed. If the bowls/wells arent completely full, the noise is awful. And it is noisy to operate otherwise in my opinion. We have it in a half bath which is close to the living room, and the fountain is irritating to us. It is making sucking air sounds as I type and I must fill it to the rim AGAIN. Shouldnt have to do that!!!!

What a wonderful product! I want my dogs and cat to have the best thing possible. So when I saw this fountain I had to have it. It was everything I was looking for. I love the stylish design. There's a nice peace feeling hearing the water softly trickle down the spout. I also love that it keeps the water cold! I wasn't expecting that at all and it was quite the welcomed suprise! I would recommend this product to everyone and anyone. 10 Stars should be the rating, really.

Nice size, small, good looking, but noisy. Have to unplug it at night, and there is no way to adjust the volume of water, even when turning the cap on top, it does not adjust.
I have a young cat who is having a hard time getting used to the heavy waterfall and won't use the waterer.

I've learned a few things the hard way. The first is before you buy a pet fountain make sure the filter is before the pump. You'd be surprised at how many get that wrong, and ruin the pump in the process.
Pros-
-Filter before the pump to keep the pump clean
-Easy to add water (reserviour style fountains require disassembly to add water, this one you just pour more in)
- nice styling
Cons-
- water doesn't filter properly. The spout is in the middle so water on one side just sits. It won't stagnate but it doesn't filter debris out either
- water level is too high. If you don't have the water to the tip top the pump for some reason starts drawing in air which is loud, annoys the cats, and can harm the pump. Why have a huge water reserve only to have to fill it three times a day?
Pros: easy to clean, durable, Spillproof
