I really like this product. Purchased it recently and me and the cat are satisfied. only has 2 parts so for my clean pet parents you can clean often without hassle, and tight close so no spilling of water everywhere.also it has a filter on it because i dont drink water from the faucet i dont think my pets should either. Another thing i liked about this product was that it held alot of water and the mouth was big enough so you can put ice in it to ensure that the water stays cool especially since its heating up outside. Overall will purchase and reccomend to fellow pet owners.
Pros: durable, easy to clean, Spillproof

This is a great idea, but I found that my cat is scared of the bubbles that sometimes come up when the water level is evening out. So, if you're cat gets scared easily, I'm not sure that this would be good. When it comes to cleaning, I feel that you still need to empty out the water sometimes. You must check everyday to see that not hair, dust, and etc. has fallen in the water. Just as you would a normal bowl.

My cats love to drink water from this fountain and they like to play with it. The bowl always fills to just the right height. When I refill it, my cats watch in awe as the water bubbles out of the bottle into the bowl. The waterers with pumps scared them and only one would go near it. I returned that one and bought this for less than half the cost. They drink from it all the time. Now that we've had it for a while, I have to fill it more often because they use it more. I've had no trouble with water not coming out. Did you put the filter in correctly? There's not much that can't work. This is a simple device.

I've always used these types of waterers for my pets and currently have this one for my cats. I've never had an issue with them until this one - it was probably just a defective product, but the water bowl itself fills up WAY too high. I've been using these long enough to know how they work, how to lock them in place, etc, but I think there must be a leak or something, because the water bowl gets filled all the way to the rim before it stops and I don't like having that much water out. It's easy to take apart and clean, but I do have messy cats so it gets grimy and sometimes it's hard to reach the interior parts of the bowl. Once I started looking at the electronic water fountains, I realized I'm over this hassle and tacky plastic product. I'll be moving on!
Pros: durable, easy to clean
Cons: poor quality, leaks

I loved the idea of having lots of water for our Golden Retreiver. We have only had it a few days but Marley is scared of it. She is scared of the bubble noise as she drinks. So this is a bust for us so far. The product works the way it should. We just have a dog and is a bit scared of it. She would sit in front of it and just cry. I will give it some time maybe she will get used to it like she did the hardwood floors, which is another story all on it own.

We live in Arizona and wanted an extra dispenser of water (in addition to the 2 bowls of water that we always have out). I liked the idea of the little filter at the bottom. However, ever since we purchased this, it doesn't actually dispense water. If I tip the water jug and back of the base up about 30 degrees, then some water comes out of the jug and into the base for the pets to drink. As it is, the product isn't doing what it is intended for!

I was looking for a way to get my bombay/dsh mix to drink more water- being that hes male and that males are more prone to urinary tract issues. I used everything from hand thrown ceramic water dishes to tupperware bowls and still couldnt get him to drink enough. I purchased this to try and get him to drink more. He was immediately amused by the bubbles when you first turn it over but just liked to sit there watching like he does my fish. After a day of him getting used to it sitting there he began using it. The half gallon now has to be refilled every 3-4 days because he drinks it all- the proof is in the litter box lol
I even brought it home to my parents cats, whose older male wouldnt drink enough and had constant urinary tract. After an hour of it sitting there the 9yo started pushing the other two out of the way so he could drink from it.

I purchased this bowl originally to make sure my cats had water over a weekend I had to travel. I had someone sitting but I wanted to be sure water was available at all times so this was insurance. It worked out great and when I returned I found my 2 cats preferred drinking from this bowl rather than the other bowls they'd been using. I've used it ever since. It can be a little difficult to disassemble but other than that it is an excellent product. Love the idea it has charcoal refill filters available.

Was a Great Idea...

Well, I initially liked this water dish. I have two cats and I was tired of refilling their little water bowls so I got this instead. Worked fine and it's very easy to clean and refill. My problem came when my 5-month-old kitten realized that the jug "bubbles" when she pounced on it. She started attacking the water jug like a toy to get to the bubbles inside. Needless to say, she knocked the thing over and spilled tons of water all over the carpet. By the third time this happened, I was through. Maybe good for some cats, but not the playful kind.

Good waterer, may be a bit stagnant

My cat drinks out of this waterer quite happily, and has not made a mess out of it. My only concern is that the water is fairly stagnant, especially if she does not drink a lot. I change the water even before the jug is empty to keep it as fresh as possible. It is quick and simple to change the water without spilling.

I'm using this in the exercise pen that houses a mother rabbit and her eight babies. They drink *a lot* of water, so this product is very convenient for me. They can almost drink the whole thing within 24 hours on a hot day, so I would have a really hard time keeping a water bowl or traditional 'rodent' water bottle filled. They don't seem to be too interested in moving it around or tipping it over, so I haven't had any spills yet. They do sometimes get their paws wet by accident if they're not careful about where they're going, but that doesn't seem to be a major issue.

I was looking for a good waterer to keep in the kitchen for my two cats who has their water bowls upstairs. I saw this one for a decent price and bought it. The fully filled jug lasts about a week or two with a couple of cats. There are no cons I can think of..

I purchased this product as a result of my cat continually tipping her old water dish over making a mess on the floor. It is easy to maintain and with the clear bottle I can easily see when it needs to be replenished. My TWO cats don't have any issues with using it. It is also a good value price-wise. I highly recommend it.

Easy for cat to move and spill

May 23, 2012
by Shelly51
fromNew Paltz, NY
The only reason this got one star from me was because you have to choose at least one in order to submit your review. My one cat does not like this dish. I purchased it after my old one broke. The lip around the bowl provides a great place for him to hook his nails and pull the dish off the eating mat. Every morning the dish is moved and spilled all over my kitchen floor. I tried sawing off the lip around the bowl but he still knocks it over. It's also much easier for the cat to see the water bubbles since the jug is clear plastic (old one was grayish) which encourages him to bat at it. I don't know if it's the blue color of this dish (old one was cream colored) but he never used to do this with the old dish. I'm really annoyed that the old model, without the filter, is no longer available. I would not recommend this product to anyone.
