I purchased 3 bags to put in my 1.5 gallon betta tank. First I soaked the gold pebbles in warm water, then I rinsed them very thoroughly several times. Despite my efforts, the water became discolored and full of gold flakes as soon as I added them to the tank. I thought my filter would help clear up the water, but it didn't. My betta Dexter got very sick and only recovered when I removed the pebbles and scrubbed out his tank. They even left a layer of golden residue that covered everything. I usually love TOPFIN, but I do NOT recommend this product!

Got two bags of this for the Top Fin 1 Gallon Desktop tank and it's the perfect amount to cover up the underground gravel filter. Though the amount in each bag isn't a whole lot to work with, smaller tanks or even glass betta bowls would work perfectly with the amount given. The gravel looks even better in water and with a light, the metallic gold aspect really comes out more and I like that the size and shape of the gravel is a bit flatter than most so it has more of a gold flake look rather than bulky rocks. A fine dust of color came off during the initial rinse, but that's to be expected with tinted gravel, no issues once it's in the tank. It compliments the pagoda and tiger barbs in the tank perfectly!

I purchased this for my 2 gallon hex aquarium. You don't get much gravel, and I could only put one layer down. They do not fade or leak (as in paint coming off) in the water, but the tank smells like plastic for a day or two after using it, but it's not like you'll stick your nose in the tank. xD I bought the last on on the shelves at my store, but am looking to buy more. :)

These arent the best rocks or gravel to put in a fish tank etc., but theres nothing wrong with them there very cheap and they have good quality... but if your looking into buying these for a big size fish tank, you might wanna buy more than like 4. I actually use these for my turtle tankXDD
